    What wastage should be allowed?

I have to agree with Steve about this as well. Although it's popular because it's available in clean, straight boards I found that very often it's really unpleasant stuff to use because it's been very poorly kilned. That said, the same can also happen to European Oak if you're unlucky enough...

    Timber Teaze?

So you're the reader! (hammer) ...but any clues about the other one? - Rob

    Slow cure wood glue

A urea-formaldehyde such as Cascamite is slow setting...something that I've recently returned to after many years. Working time of around an hour, but one of the problems is that it sets glass hard when fully cured  Axminster stock the stuff - Rob

Drawer narrower at back than front.

Normal practice in good quality work is to leave the back a fraction of a mm wider than the front - Rob

    What wastage should be allowed?

I agree with Chris...might be a little on the high side, depending on the quality of the timber you buy, but certainly at least 35% and up - Rob

    Timber Teaze?

It could be balsa though Jim...but I don't think it is. However, there is a clue :-" - Rob

    Ok, it's a big chisel.

Such chisels are still available and Matt used to keep a bigger range of sizes, but this seems to be the only one he does now  - Rob

    Timber Teaze?

Something that I was given in Japan... I know what it's called, but do you? Fairly hard, interlocked, small tree (as you can see from the growth rings) and the image hasn't been Pshopped...that's what it looks like - Rob

    Another Grand Day Out

I did, but got rid of it down the dump...horrible stuff, rotten all the way through - Rob

    Tomatoes...

Looking forward to the trip Andy, I'll email in Aug when it's closer to our holiday date - Rob

    More electrical problems!

Same here DW, or something very similar from Blagdon. They work a treat so no need to wire anything underground. I run the pump, UV and a electronic gizmo thingie to kill blanket weed (which is does, sort of) Pond is now gin clear btw, so I'm going to bottle it and sell some to Jim at a boot...

    Tomatoes...

I'll do that as well next year. I've got the cues and toms in growpots which may explain why they've done so well. Plenty of fruit on the trusses as well, but none ripe yet...any green ones I'll turn into chutney later on - Rob

    New Chisels

It will if you use the right jig (Kell III) and use carefully - Rob

    New Chisels

You can pull and push with the wider chisels, inc the 6mm but the 3mm is probably too small, so pull only - Rob

    Tomatoes...

Thanks chaps, will do - Rob

    Tomatoes...

The toms are now up to 6' high in the gh (as are the cucumbers)...how do I stop the damn things from getting any bigger?- Rob

    Straightening a bent sawblade

That surprises me  I agree about the digital market thingie but I think from a personal perspective, it's a bit of a mind set, if you follow. I buy a camera (for example I use a Nikon D60) which takes perfectly acceptable pics and I know that it's been superseded by a later model which...

Bosch GTS 10 XC Table Saw ?

A good saw but the loudest, screechiest   brush motor you'll ever hear. Buy with caution and if you do, get the best ear muffs you can afford! There's no sliding carriage but the rhs table extends outwards - Rob

You guys don't seem that excited...

..which is why you'll find that many cars (automobiles to them from the US of A) in the UK are small. That, and the price of bloody fuel  - Rob

inspiration to use piece of wood

I have to agree with Jacob here. Not a lot that you can really do with this sort of board, but it'll come in useful one day for a project when it'll be just the right bit of wood for the job, so don't do anything with it yet. I had a similar piece of beech (a bit smaller) that I didn't know...
