    Looking to buy a mini lathe for rings....

    How do you shape your rings? Do you use tooling or are you working from an already round item and shaping etc done only with abrasives etc? Just trying to work out whether you could just use a small variable speed motor or Dremel type tool with an arbor/ mandrel for work holding?

    Cheers folks, a simple woodworking project for youngsters or beginners and of course one could use a coping saw etc. Obviously the idea and designs are from a photo in the link in the first post above, so if anyone wants to purchase a planter go there and buy one ;)

    Don't forget the potato! After you've cut your blank a couple of mm longer than the brass tube, and drilled it with the appropriate sized drill bit and are ready to epoxy your tube into the blank, cut a slice of raw potato and push your tube into it, thus resulting in a potato plug in the ends...
