***TREND*** ROUTING COMPETITION - Third Place

Well, I don't quite know how my table could score the same as Ian's fantastically skilful work  , but many thanks to the judges for putting me one place higher than I expected! :D Cheers, Neil

    Festo Plunge saw

On Aragorn's advice I ordered an extra joining bar when I got my TS55, and Mike is absolutely right that you need the extra one. Enjoy the saw! Neil

    Festool Sanders

Hi Steve, I have the Metabo Duo, and I have used the Festool 150/3. The Festool would be perfect for you, I think - the Metabo is a great sander and I have no regrets about buying it, but I think the reason it tends to come top in the reviews is that at less than half the price of the Festool...

    New router table top finished

Looks fantastic, Tony - and hopefully you'll be metric by Wednesday or Thursday, as long as the Irish post cooperates  I really like the way you've shaped the top so the table fits into the corner of the workshop - very clever 8) Cheers, Neil

Mitre guide needed but from where?

Incra also do the sliders without the mitre gauge, but it may be difficult to get hold of one - maybe WoodworkersWorkshop? Neil

    Do you Hoard?

But why does that always happen? Why, when I've kept something for 5 years during which time it has been of no use whatsoever, does it become the exact widget I need within days of throwing it way? SWMBO doesn't like hoarding very much, so now I have a box in the workshop which she has labelled...

Mitre guide needed but from where?

Hi Tony, How about one from our favorite manufacturer, Incra? I'm very tempted too - expensive, but worth it if you ask me. Cheers, Neil

    Axminster service...

That is extraordinarily generous of you, Alf - keeping it would have seemed a very reasonable thing to do after the huge task of writing those famous reviews  Cheers, Neil

    Ellen MacArthur.

Too right you couldn't, John - I can guarantee it! I think the BBC's comments were fair enough - the record arguably the most important offshore sailing record (the fully-crewed record is the other contender, but isn't nearly as much of a test on the individuals themselves) and warrants a place...

Perfect Picture framing...How to do it?

Hi Raymond, I have the Pushmaster widget too, and I know what you mean about the price  - but I must admit it does a great job. I've always used corner clamps (Record brand) and I haven't had any great difficulties - never tried a band clamp I'm afraid. Cheers, Neil

    Absolutely beautiful, Chris! Neil

    Norms plans up for grabs

Unfortunately, there is only a Mafell clone of the 1/4" router (and the massive 1/2" job too I think?) - not the medium-sized 1/2" pistol-grip version which is the size that I am after. The plunge saw has a few significant differences too, and I think its sensible to go down one route or the...
