    Festool plunge saw deal ???

I can beat that, John  I ordered from Protrade too - in the end it took 4 weeks before I got the saw and the guide rails. During that time, Protrade had to send out two saws, and 4 PAIRS of guide rails. The second saw got to me, and the second set of rails too, three weeks after they...

    Festool plunge saw deal ???

Hi Jase, I haven't fitted the splinter guard yet, and the cuts I've made in ply have still been excellent, on the waste side as well. I would use it if I was cutting veneered MDF though. Cheers, Neil

How do you use a panel raising cutter on your router table?

Hi Chris, I have the Makita 3612C - I guess seeing as it is a pretty common model in the US there may well be an Eliminator to fit it - I'll check it out. I'll be really interested to hear how you get on with the Eliminator, especially compared to the XX :) Thanks again, Neil <edit> looks...

How do you use a panel raising cutter on your router table?

This has been very interesting - thanks, CYC, for asking the question and thanks to Chris for answering it :D It makes me think that thick router plates are actually a benefit rather than a curse, and following on from this, that I should have bought the Triton router as the extra bit of...

Can't afford a Festool saw? (could be a jig)

Nice one, Tony \:D/ Next you'll have to make a better guide rail, and it MUST include the rubber strip along the edge so your guide rail edge corresponds to your cutting line - positioning the guide is SO much faster & more accurate with this, and it is excellent for work-holding too. Also a...

    Hi-fi amps

Hi Steve, I suspect that an amp with three Speaker Sets is going to be expensive... I have this Marantz one which has two speaker sets, but I think I would be pushing it a bit to call it low-profile  Why not pop in to Richer Sounds in Nottingham (108 Mansfield Road) - even if they...

ok where's the cheapest FESTOOL supplier ?

Hi HS, Protrade still have the plunge saw with two 1.4m guide rails and a connector bar for £325+VAT. I don't know how competitive their price is for the jigsaw (£199+VAT, 35 blades free) and they don't list the linear sander, but could probably get it. I also saw an ad in GWW for a place...

    Irwin speed clamps

Thanks, guys - Jason, I thought that price sounded too good to be true, although £2.93 doesn't sound bad either! Les, thanks for the offer - I'll have a look in Galway first as I suspect that the postage wouldn't exactly be cheap! Cheers, Neil
