    Help Bob!!!??

Yesterday I arranged an electrican friend to come this morning but in bed last night I wandered if I had tried all combinations of button pressing in the switch box. Not wanting egg on my face this morning I've been in the workshop to try it again and hey presto I've got it working. You can see...

    Help Bob!!!??

Wallace I don't know what an overload on the starter is but I've taken a photo of the box attached to the motor which is the next stop after the switch box. mbarlett I've tried all the buttons switches in there (including the one next to the MTB logo) in as many combinations as possible and...

    Help Bob!!!??

OK I've established that I have power to the socket and I have taken photo's of the plug and the switch box below. The motor is definatelt single phase as that's all I have, but there is (suprisingly) no information plate on the motor, or at least that I can see. Does this help any? Do I need an...

    Help Bob!!!??

I've already tried the fuses, not them. I can't test the plug socket with something else because I don't have anything else with the same type of plug. It's not your standard 3 pin plug, it's a 2 pin that is designed (I think) for a higher voltage or ampage! I don't have a multimeter and if...

Thanks guys. I have Bob's email address and phone number but didn't want to contact him direct (give him the option to reply or not) and I thought someone else may be able to help anyway.

    Help Bob!!!??

Hi All, This is a plea to Bob 9 Fingers specifically but I would be grateful for anyones help. My table (a Wadkin 12" ags ) is not responding. When I try to switch it on there is nothing. It's a 3hp single phase motor and in the past I have blown a couple of fuses when the motor has struggled...

    Hazel??

Oh, that's nice to know Charlie - I'll make sure I get a good supply. Thanks. How long would you suggest I leave it to dry before I start working with it?

    Hazel??

Hi all, Tomorrow I'm cutting down a couple of hazel trees for a friend who is letting me take what I like from them. From the quick glance I had today they don't look too substantial but should get a few decent branches for some spindle turning. Has anyone used Hazel and if so what's it like...

Ever seen a bandsaw like this before?

You may well be right about the butchery Eric or it may be used for cross cutting logs to size (for the woodburners) rather than resawing. It would be an alternative to the circular saw blades the shove on the back of their tractors!!!

Ever seen a bandsaw like this before?

http://www.leboncoin.fr/jardinage/363883672.htm?ca=14_s I guess you could use it in the workshop running off the 3hp electric motor and out in the field using the massive 9hp petrol motor. I've never seen one lik it before!

    Inlay question

Thanks Adidat - What special tools do I need? Hi Chris I'm fine thanks. How did your radio spot go? The only issue I have with your advice is that my bandsaw wanders all over the place and I can't get a consistantly thin piece of veneer. John - That's a great idea that never crossed my mind and...

    Inlay question

Hi All, My friend has a table top in Cherry which is about 3m long by 800mm wide. He wants me to add a frame of oak around the table top and then put an inlay over the joint between the two woods to hide the joint. As I have never inlayed before I have several questions: 1) Do I need any...

    Hot Glue Gun

I know it's only a small purchase but can anyone advise me on which one to buy. I am just starting out as a wood turner and want a hot glue gun for sticking scrap to a blank for mounting on the lathe. They vary in price from next to nothing to about £30 upwards. Will a cheap one suffice for what...
