    Ryobi ETS1526 Table saw

Anyone got one? I've been given one, but it needs two thin spanners to change the blade. One seems to be 23mm, the other about 24mm across the flats. If anyone has one of these and could check the spanner sizes, I'd be grateful. They seem to be about 4mm thick maximum. I've tried Ryobi's...

Fine adjustment fence for a bandsaw.

Thanks Steve, it sounds amazing! But I can wait a couple of weeks now.

Fine adjustment fence for a bandsaw.

I was right, you ARE a tease! :D Just tell me if it's adjustable with one, or more, screws, please!

Fine adjustment fence for a bandsaw.

Thanks DW, ves that's an idea, but not very stable. My ideal would be a fence with a recessed screw head I can turn to make slight adjustments. I can't wait to see what Steve has up his sleeve!

Fine adjustment fence for a bandsaw.

You tease! :D Yes, I have a metal fence, which I doubt is the original as it's a bit utilitarian, but clamps firmly. But it's very difficult to adjust a small amount, which is why I asked the question.

Fine adjustment fence for a bandsaw.

I'm reaching a milestone birthday in a couple of weeks, and hoping to get a complete set of Steve's DVD's from my family. Can anyone tell me if there's a fine adjustment bandsaw fence on one of them, please? It would be for a Startrite 301. I enjoy a bit of anticipation!

Easy things to make and sell.

That would be worthwhile knowledge, James. I'd be grateful if you'd ask, if he knows, of course.

Easy things to make and sell.

It's true that stuff made from pallet wood seems to be an attraction for some people. I don't understand it myself, but I'm not complaining. And there are a huge number of YouTube tutorials available. Painting products increases the attraction. I use acrylic paints from Wilko, it's so easy...

Router bits, buy cheap buy twice?

My word, James, they're not cheap, are they? I don't want to start thread drift, but as a slight aside, is there a satisfactory way of sharpening roundover bits?

    Flip stop

You'll get a lot more satisfaction making yourself one, they're not difficult.

    Stokboard-recycled plastics

If it's anything like Ecosheet, a polymerised recycled plastic sheet 8' x 4' and 18mm thick, it'll have very poor tensile strength, will warp in sunlight, and snap under any traumatic loading. I've used lots of the stuff for the last three years, and it's OK for building vivariums, and for pig...

    Planing board edges

Thanks for your replies, guys. Lots to think about, there! I'm going to try screwing a piece of ply across the ends, and also using my routing table, once I've worked out how to bring out one side of the fence - maybe a length of iron-on edging will do the trick.

    Planing board edges

I've got a 10" lunchbox planer, and have tried to plane board edges by stacking a few of the same width face to face, then running them through together, so they stay vertical. I've made a wooden U-shaped clamp, tightened with a wedge, but it's only partly successful compared with how tight a...

Drilling holes with a Forstner bit

Thanks guys, I seem to have solved the problem. I'd made a jig to hold the wood in place, but it "gave" a little, which enabled the bit to grab. I've re-made the jig, not a pretty thing, but it now incorporates two big clamps, and not one little toggle clamp. There's no movement, and the...

    Triton 2400w router repair needed

You were spot on, Siggy! I'd left it switched on! Brilliant deduction on your part, so thanks very much, you saved me money and time, and stopped me from looking a prat!

    Triton 2400w router repair needed

Oh my, Siggy! I've got a horrible suspicion that you might be right! What a stupid mistake to make! I'll check first thing in the morning, but I think it is still switched on. Thanks very much for pointing out something I should have thought of myself.

    Triton 2400w router repair needed

Anyone know where I can get this fixed in the Bristol area? I'd rather somewhere that do repairs, rather than send it away. The problem is the shaft won't lock when fully wound down, so it's impossible to change the bit. Any help appreciated!

Drilling holes with a Forstner bit

Haha! Thanks so much! I knew someone would have an answer I hadn't thought of! More time-consuming, but an answer that'll obviously do the trick!
