I'd thought I'd let people know that there's a demo by Tracy Owen at my local club this weekend, and from the previous times I've seen him I wouldn't miss it. Demos usually start around 9.30 (I think) and last until 4ish with a drink and biscuit break in the morning and afternoon plus lunch...

I've only tried it twice and the blades have been used since then. I can't say for sure that they aren't weaker. After cutting up come wet laburnum my blade started to struggle. I took it off, put it in a tub, sprayed it with oven cleaner and left it. I couldn't believe how much junk had come off within an hour. Put the blade back on and it was almost as good as new. Duncan

Apparently one of the turners in our club gave some shavings to his neighbour for their rabbit hutch. Unfortunately there were some padauk shavings in there and the white rabbit ended up dyed red :) They didn't ask for shavings again

When I first used the site yesterday morning it was incredibly slow. So slow that the first time I went there the browser timed out the request. When I eventually got there it remained slow. I left it for 10 minutes and it appeared to have sorted itself out.

I use the Trugrind that I bought from Axminster. I've never used any other jib so I can't compare it to anything else. It does the job. Not much else to say about it. One thing which I like is the ability to true up the wheel. If I was starting from scratch now I'd probably make my own.
