Post a photo of the last thing you made

Here is a mobile base for a TH/PL that I made with oak which is based largely on a Peter Parfitt YouTube video. He dominoed the joints but I don't have one so dowelled and added some pocket holes too for a bit extra. Both wife and me stood on it so I hope 🙏 the 200kg of machine will be OK...

No, im in my 30's and I think Im too busy apart from the odd marshaling at Parkrun ive not done anything but if I had a lot of free time I would definitely do something. How about teaching young offenders woodworking, dont know how one go ahead about it but that would be lovely to do.

Axminster AT260 SPT - Opinions needed

Hi, I bought an iTECH 260s spiral thicknesser back in January but getting fed up with the extended delays, its now estimated 15 May. Would this similar spec machine be just as good, its a few hundred more expensive as it does not come with the digital thickness display too. Or should I go for...

    Insulation thickness for walls?

I insulated my garage last year with insulated plasterboard. I lost about 80mm with the battens. I was concerned too as my garage is small at 5.5 x 5.5 but I dont regret it now. When the temp was -2 the other week I had an oil rad on full whack and it kept the room at a cosy enough 15C. Plus...

    What cost for European Ash

I did bring it up on the phone but didn't labour on it. When I spoke to the boss the other day he told me its just great timber and they do a great job selecting the boards, also something about white in the face of the ash. I think we all know I must sounded like a rich newbie willing to...

    What cost for European Ash

If I have to go down the route of involving my bank to reclaim because they won't willingly refund me they will not be getting any money from me.

    What cost for European Ash

    What cost for European Ash

Even though it is a ridiculously high price and I have now had another written quote this morning from Whitmores of £454.91 inc VAT and delivery I am messing them about a bit here by agreeing and paying them for the order. You are right I can cancel and perhaps I can ask for a full refund...

    What cost for European Ash

Why is it double standards by me not naming the company? Is it even relevant, besides my main reason for withholding their name is that there not here to defend themselves and I don't want it to turn into some mudslinging exercise what would be gained by naming them?. My reason for the thread...

    What cost for European Ash

I called them up and said that I was after either AA or EA and that being a newbie I did not know exactly how to specify the quantity of timber I needed. The chap on the phone was great and said just send over your cutting list and explained that I would be quoted for waney edge boards that...

    What cost for European Ash

So you think that they will have spent several hours selecting my wood then? I'm a complete novice here hence me asking the question. Its about 4cu ft of wood, I'm told its about 12 boards. If £250 is a fair price then I have no problem, hence me asking. I am totally at fault here but I have a...

    What cost for European Ash

Distance selling regulations, the enquiry was made over the phone and the quotation and acceptance made via email. It's not a bespoke product (or is it). Therefore I have the law on my side, well within my right for a refund just unsure what a reasonable restocking fee would be. I asked the...
