I am currently making a 'kitchen island' (butchers block type of thing). The surface is 2" x 2" bolted through and will not have a finish applied (for hygiene reasons). The legs etc will have a finish. The suggestion I have had is to apply 3 caots of varnish. However, I am not a fan of varnish...

I cannot comment on either of these table saws, however, I have moved from a table saw that had a brush motor to one that has an induction motor. You will notice the difference with the induction motor - it is smoother and quieter. The induction motors seem to be more powerful on table saws...
