    Record Power 350 sabre

I have a large cast iron machine in pieces I am restoring, I really only need a small saw. This machine is pretty much 2000 everywhere. It is irrational I know but I have never been really happy with my minimax planer thicknesser, SCM would not be my first choice.

    Record Power 350 sabre

Thanks. I can't help feeling Felder would maybe be higher spec, even if only slightly, than record and unfortunately, I go by looks and the Hammer to my eye looks simpler. I'm not too worried about blades as I still find Tuffsaws best. I'm aware the base isn't included, but not difficult to...

    Record Power 350 sabre

I hope you don't mind me asking but do you think the Sabre 350 is significantly better than the Hammer N2-35? It looks very similar but has upper and lower bearing guides, the Hammer has lower wood blocks I believe, cast iron wheels rather than cast Aluminium, and a more powerful motor. The...

    Hammer N2-35 bandsaw

Does anyone have any experience with this saw?

    Planer fence

I have a 12" SCM. The fence is Aluminium and only supported at one end. My fence is also not flat. As it isn't flat I just set it up so it gives me an edge at 90 degrees. If the fence flexes at its end, nearer the cutter head, don't push too hard against it. To my mind it isn't that different to...

    Knive sharpening.

Japanese cooking knives often have bevel on one side. Here is a randomnly chosen explanation. Some marking knives are also bevelled on one side making it easier to scribe an accurate line.

    New band saw advice

I'm considering buying the N2 35, I have no good reason but don't fancy a Record. Does anyone have experience with the smaller Hammer?

    eMTB pedal crank falling off

I think I have found one that will fit. Hours of searching, not the same model and 5mm longer but should work. I did get the old one to stay on for 50 or so km but came off in the end.

Withdrawn 18" unused Incra steel mitre bar/slider

    I usualy tap it.

Withdrawn 18" unused Incra steel mitre bar/slider

It was a bit laborious but not difficult. I bought 3/4" x 1/4" gauge plate in 18" lengths from [email protected]. It did not fit the slot, it was oversize. So I stuck some 3M aluminium oxide microfinishing film from workshop heaven to the saw table and lapped the width until it fit the...

    eMTB pedal crank falling off

From what I can determine as the inner bolt comes undone, and I've spent the last hour+ searching forums, the crank slowly works its way off and as it reaches the end of the aluminium splines they start to disintegrate. Haibike customer service appears non-existent, they want you to go back to...

    eMTB pedal crank falling off

Apparently you are supposed to gease them but I did use some loctite. Still came undone very quickly.

    eMTB pedal crank falling off

I know there are some bike users on here, not me though. The crank on one side of my son's e Haibike fell off this morning. I took everything apart, cleaned it all well and reassembled it. I didn't have an 8mm hex to put on the torque wrench, I'm not used to bikes but by car standards, 55N is...

    57-2 Dremel Moto-Shop

When I lived in Ireland, in the 90's, I bought my John Deere ride-on from just outside Venice. It was half the price of Dublin Grass.

    57-2 Dremel Moto-Shop

Haven't seen anything, including the parkside here, for less than around €150. I agree, the 3" is probably more trouble than it is worth. Even a very rusty Delta I saw this morning was €158 pluss shipping. It is a very different market here. People get an idea in their head they want £X and...

    57-2 Dremel Moto-Shop

I think it might take 3" scroll saw blades, are they still widely available?

    57-2 Dremel Moto-Shop

Does anyone have experience with this fretsaw? I'd only buy it for occasional use. There is one available locally for £50ish and I'm guessing it may be better built than anything current at that sort of price. Unfortunately its 115V.

Thanks. Seems like it is 1931/32. Older than I thought.

    5 1/2 Jack

When I checked the link it was the Stanley Bailey type 15 5 1/2. They must have removed it as it had been sold.
