    Which 3d printer - 2023 edition

It is more than a year since I have used it, I'm afraid I gave up, it seemed like far too much tinkering and not sure what wasn't working correctly. The only thing I remember was having to level the bed constantly. Maybe a lot of spaghetti too in the end and never quite sure how close the nozzle...

    Which 3d printer - 2023 edition

I bought an Creality Ender 3 V2 in Feb 2021 for my son then 12. After a while, it felt like I was spending all my spare time trying to get it to work. There were some successes but more failures. It alsonfelt like most of the people on the forums didn't really know what they were talking about...

The setup of the dai or wooden plane body in a Japanese plane for kanna is critical and constantly adjusted depending on the type of planing. It starts off flat but the area in contact with the workpiece varies according the work. Ideally a smoothing plane should make contact with the wood at...

    Plane - Sole Contact Points

On the contrary, I can see both sides. I just don't accept "there is only one way to do it, my way, don't bother considering anything new or foreign."

    Plane - Sole Contact Points

I have never found him abrasive. It may largely go over my head but I still find it interesting, I find some others on here far more difficult to listen to.

    Wanted Startrite TA275 DS parts

I do have one. It is without dust extraction, I bought it, then found one with dust tube and ended up with two. I seem to remember it being quite expensive, used off eBay. I have a 175 but I believe they are the same.

    Plane - Sole Contact Points

I don't know why he scribbled, except maybe to aid in taking off a uniform layer. The finish from a hand plane is so much nicer than sanded or machine planed, I guess it could be a purely cosmetic pass of the plane, to improve the finish.

    Plane - Sole Contact Points

I think they probably did care about their work. Or they wouldn't have left us the instruments they did. Is it that difficult to understand that we are all different and see things in different ways?

24" bow saw with raker tooth patter did the job but boy was it slow.

    Vintage Record Planes

I recently sold a relatively new 5 1/2 record. The quality really was rubbish. Especially around the asjusters.

    Wanted Startrite TA275 DS parts

I think I may have the crown guard, I'll check. Mine came without sliding table and I found it impossible ot too expensive to make one up from the above.

And they do it with of all things, waterstones, and flat ones at that.

    Plane - Sole Contact Points

But nowhere near as sharp as your planes. Just a gimmick.
