    Ebay relisting?

I have combined feedback of around 2000 and it's never happened to me.

    Lets see your wood

They were posted from Australia to New Zealand and then flew back to Italy in my friends baggage so I hope theyr're not the same! Bits of wood that cost next to nothing in Aus are simply gorgeous compared to what I can get here.

    Lets see your wood

A friend came back from New Zealand today and brought me back some Australian timber. A small piece of Inland Queensland Rosewood, not a true rosewood but just as gorgeous, and 4 pieces of Gidgee, also gorgeous. I wish I had a lathe.

    Ebay relisting?

I was lucky and placed the winning bid, £65, on a LN chisel in Felixstowe. I paid the same day and waited. 2 weeks later I asked for tracking, it had been sent Evri which I understand always has tracking. The seller said no tracking and instantly gave me a refund. As far as I am concerned I...

Cutting 4mm mild steel with jigsaw

I had a narrow disc blow up in my face last week. Admittedly the first time, and they were Parkside discs at a friend's house, which I confess I wouldn't buy. It's a good Bosch Pro jigsaw, reciprocating and speed control.

Cutting 4mm mild steel with jigsaw

I need to make 2 35cm straight cuts in 4mm mild steel. Will the jigsaw with bimetal blade work?

I have bought from them several times. The items are often out of stock and twice I have had damaged items.

    Lets see your wood

A neighbour recently attacked a walnut in his garden, he can't resist, only the top. Not sure what I'll be able to do with the results but hopefully something.

Blades for a couple of old No4 hand planes?

I could have phrased that better. I am lucky to have some very nice planes going back to the 80's but I have never really used them that much until recently. Last week whilst using a no4 with the same style chipbreaker and a very tight mouth I found that the very small shavings were getting...

Blades for a couple of old No4 hand planes?

Maybe you need to give that chipbreaker a rub on a stone to close up that gap as well. I like pmv11 blades but they are very expensive. I'm constantly reading that the older Stanley blades were much better, pre war and American sweetheart maybe.

I just want a nice METRIC ONLY comination square

I spotted the Starrett C33MH-150 Forged super reduced on Amazon and bit the bullet. Usually I'd pick up one of my highly accurate hardened Matsui squares but since picking up the Starrett I tend to favour it over the Matsui. Very nice to use.

The thicknessing bed was also not parallel to the cutters and had to be adjusted.

Advice needed -Minimax C26 G-T combination machine

I have a minimax 30 PT which I regret buying. It has 3 blades and finish is OK. However it has steel rollers which can leave quite deep indentations in the board you are planing unless you take quite a bit off the board and I have to clean the steel feed rollers constantly, even a few small...

    Moulding plane trivia

Thank you for all the interesting posts on planemaking. It's a shame that some members no longer want to share because of the way the forum is now funded.

Why isn't there a reasonably priced eclipse-style honing guide?

The first 2 I bought were very out of square. The third, sent direct from Canada now works.

You can only buy one - which one

I bought one of the first Leigh jigs, must be back in the 90's. I still haven't used it.
