    Powder coating MDF

isn't it dried to melt the coating, is it that process that is the issue? Shame as sure it would be a good process, plenty of metal work is powder coated and know it is very hard wearing. Back to Morrells maybe?

Why I have been so quiet

I love this forum, full of friendly people and honest opinions, and without wanting to cause upset, that bedroom is the mother of all bad bedrooms in terms of look. Is great you are making money from it, but in terms of taste that is awful, utterly awful. Great to see WIP stuff though. Regards, G

I have been asked to do some face frames for a friend

Hello, I used the Kreg kit for face frames in my kitchen and worked very well. I did find that unless clamped up very well and tight you can get a bit of movement as you do up the screws, so I used a couple of blocks to cover the whole joint area and a quick clamp and worked well. I don't...

    Plane advice

Plane gives such a nice finish compared to a ROS if get it right. ROS just grinds whereas a nice plane that's well set up and razor sharp cuts nicely and doesn't clog the pores of the wood with fine dust.

    Best temperature for workshop

I am sure there is some risk that a little bit of heat to a workshop that is not properly insulated could be more of a risk than none at all. My workshop has no heating, and is left sometimes without being used for a little while. It is dry, fully tiled and with a single skin brick walls and...

    spray paint suppliers

Hello, try morrells, google and should come up. Do good quality products that you can get via post if not close to distributor. Otherwise you could try the new dulux low VOC water based paint and spray, I haven't tried yet but most paint will thin and spray if you get right mix and use a...

Circular saws (Festool TS55 & Makita 18v cordless).

Don't forget the dust extraction, and adaptors to fit your system etc. Then all you need is some PTFE spray to put down the tracks and it glides down. I use a veritas brass scribe to set for parallel cuts and this works great as long as there is no issues with the blade not running against the...

Hello I have a dulux weathershield painted door that I want to turn to a farrow and ball gloss colour I have. I wonder can I just key and paint over, as was very well layered in first place, or do I need to key, re-prime and then gloss with the new paint. Cheers in advance. G

Outside enclosure for DX5000 (now vented outside with pics)

I have a DX5000 and on both motors it makes alot of noise. It will also collect a fair bit so for what you build you need to make sure you can change the bags easily and not risk dropping it all over the place. I put mine on the wall up highish and stays out the way pretty much.
