    planer blade setting jigs

I bought the axminster blades jig a few weeks ago. In the end I didn't use it, having spent ages looking at trying to find the best way to use, and having limited time. What I did in the end was this. 1. Take one very long Maun straight edge, though of course other varieties are available. 2...

Fuji XPC Mini Mite 3 < £100 new on eBay!

I am glad I am not the only one who finds it damn loud!!!! They say a loud hoover in the reviews, but its worse than that. (I think the 4 is better on that front) Once you get the gun, good finish ,though gun and pins/nozzles are not cheap.

    kitchen cabinets (Fitted)

Nice, they must weigh a bit. I made mine with an 18mm back and regret it when come to lift them. No need for the gym.....

Awesome wip. Though all of a sudden I feel a bit humbled at the skill some people have, thanks for sharing though.

    Walnut and painted WIP

Great post, thanks. You inspired me to use the method for face frame beading for some cabinets. Apart from one corner it worked a treat. This post makes it look so easy, the reality is you need very very well set up machines and for us with a small space then it takes so much longer. I look...

    French Cleats

Hello I have two big and heavy kitchen cabinets that I made that need to be wall mounted soon. I am hanging via a french cleat on the full length of the back of the units. My slight issue is the wall is about an inch out for one on the units, so it will not be a flush line. What would you...

Transporting Doors on a silly impractical car..........

I have a BMW coupe, and not the best for load lugging though bikes go on a treat. The bars are rated at 70kg, and bolt direct into hidden bolts in the roof rails, so pretty secure. They are going from the west country to Hampshire. Being 2.1m long they shouldn't over hang the car much at all...

Transporting Doors on a silly impractical car..........

Cheers Dibs Yep, never thought about the front and rear tow hooks. The car isn't big enough to get them in, even with seats down. Will hit halfrauds I think.

Transporting Doors on a silly impractical car..........

Hello, yep, I sadly don't have a Van, instead with quite an impractical coupe. I do have some very sturdy roof bars for it, and need to get a set of wooden double doors 100 miles from where I am. Anybody know any good ways of making sure the doors don't end up on the A303 bouncing down the...

A B&Q offer that surprised me

Hey They also have the Siemens room control stuff on offer at my B&Q, the remote on the sockets has transformed using my dust extractor that's a bit on the large side now. You just hit the remote as you start up whatever machine and sorted. I am going to move into a new building next to the...

Wall storage shelves hanging from french-cleat wall slats

Looks good but I would not put anything heavy on them. The point of a french cleat is surely that it pulls down on to the wall. That one being upside down (lol, or maybe my laptop is, sorry, predictable dad style joke) means that when it's loaded there will be a risk of a pivot on the lower...

    Not impressed Axminster

Hmmmmm, I wouldn't say you can blame the machine, as noted above, you need to check the fingers are all free moving. If you are taking out passes at 1.5mm withour proper dust extraction and chip clearance you are going to be at risk of things getting clogged and wearing. As a trader you should...

Filter bags for Record DX4000 extractor

I seem to remember a few years ago you used to be able to get a better quality higher grade/lower micron filter from record, not sure if you still can but worth a phone call if you're lazy with your dust protection.

    Remote Sockets

Check out the range of Siemens ones at large B and Q's, can even operate via internet and Iphone, very handy. Got some sockets to test and max loading is 3kw, so handy for extractors and anything that is in a tricky spot.
