A good idea at the time.....

Roger I would not consider using the see through material as with my Studee cyclone if I hold my hand over the inlet , I get the plastic drum flattening so I don't see how even with stronger material it will work. I am using a 2000W vacuum. Barry

A good idea at the time.....

Roger my version of the 6" cyclone does not work as well as the Studee cyclone using a Triton dust bucket. The 6" does handle fine dust but if there are bits of wood etc the cyclone blocks very quickly. If I use the dust collected from my big cyclone and try to suck it up with the 6" cyclone I...

    carcass construction

Tom last time I had to install them far from my workshop I went and bought the Ikea carcass with birch veneer. The cost was about the same as I would have paid for the timber and all the fittings were supplied and from what I can remember the European hinges were £3 a pair. Just a thought Barry

    carcass construction

Tom I tend to rebate more when using MDF so as to hide as much of the edge as possible and I tend to trench the back into the sides and do the same with shelves. The construction is stronger but it takes more time. Check the diagonals on the boxes both front and back if you are fitting sliding...

    Rebates on small pieces

I would cut the rebates before I made the frames using the longer pieces of wood in the router table. If you have already assembled the frames and you are doing a number - make a jig out of say MDF and then use a hand held router to cut the rebate. Some ideas Barry

What morticer do you have ?

Jason What a lucky bugger I am - I don't drink tea so have no use for one. It would have been a problem if you said it was ideal for the beers or an ideal drinks holder at the spa - I would have had to go out and get one. Barry

What morticer do you have ?

Jason I think that a RAT would not find a home in a shop like yours where you have to earn your living from it - not quick enough and totally lacks the robustness of the morticers mentioned by Scrit et al Barry

Damaged hob - what are my rights

Andy what bad luck - hope it does not delay your curries for too long - At present I am working my way through Atul Kochhar's book - he was on the Queens cooking program and he has one of them stars of the French variety and something to do with tyres. I will PM you the best I have found so far...

The Great Carlsberg Workshop Construction Project

Carlsberg I thread a nut on before the cut and then thread it over the cut so I do not have to do anything as the nut then works fine - if you know what I mean. With M12 I just use a good hacksaw blade - the grinder takes to long and I have my grinder mounted in a stand Barry

    Precision Miter Gauge System

WiZer I used Norm's outdoor unit as a example. On the left it extends to support timber upto 2 metres and the same on the right - it folds back behind the existing front right and then extends. If I did it again I would not add the option on the right going to 2 metres. The dust hood is the mark...

Aluminum like kitchen top edging strip

I am looking for the aluminum like kitchen top strip that is just short of 40mm wide. It is on a white plastic backing. Ikea uses it on some of their worktops but don't supply it as an extra. I am looking for a 1 metre length as I am altering an existing kitchen. Can any of our kitchen fitters...
