Can you have too many routers? Freud FT2000E on offer.

Can you have too many routers? I have three - the big Triton by far the best router I have used - ideal for a table - a little heavy for hand held. A DW615 1/4" - idea as a hand held and for dovetail jigs A 1250W B&Q Performance Pro - the first router I bought - worked well but lacks the power...

    Dust Extractor? (sorry......)

scotswood the least would would have to use a .5micron filter attached to the extractor as all the garage will be covered in fine dust. This will occur with all bag type extractors. Can you locate it outside in a cupboard ? Barry

    dust extraction query

Adam that's why I suggested a dust bucket to try to reduce the effect of the 50mm to 110mm. You also have to remember that he is using a 2900W triple vacuum that might be able to cope. It is not ideal but might work. I tried it with a 2000W single vacuum and it was just about acceptable. Barry

    dust extraction query

Jason who says???. He could get away with a dust bucket that would allow the conversion of his 50MM to the 110mm soil pipe? johnnyb you have to convert the 110mm back to 100mm to fit most blast gates. Something like this Barry

Getting TS & CS blades sharpened

I am looking to get a number of blades sharpened and was wondering if anybody can recommend and shop West of London, Berkshire, Surrey or Buckinghamshire ie close to Camberley. What should i expect to pay. Is the pricing per tooth?? One recommendation was Southern Counties Saw Co in High...

    'Burgess' Cyclone parts

Roger if I suck up a Ikea pencil with the big cyclone you hear the pencil clanging around in the cyclone until you turn the power off. The same happens with larger pieces of wood from the TS or SCMS Barry

    'Burgess' Cyclone parts

I started by asking the pro builders of big dust extractor where they got their impellors from. That led me to one or two who were prepared to supply 14" impellors for about £120 +VAT. In the end I desided to buy on old dust extractor for thr impellor casing and motor on Ebay for £135 delivered...

    'Burgess' Cyclone parts

From the PhD the best results with fine particles were achieved using a 1D3D model(Barrel length is 1X diameter cone is 3 X diameter) The worse results were from a 1D2D as with the former you achieved over 6 turns of the dust in the cyclone but this dropped to under 3 with the 1D2D. With the...

    Dewalt DW615 newbie.

sigibbons the big Triton weighs in at 7Kgs so its not for the faint hearted as a hand held but the grunt helps. Idea for changing bits above the table. Barry

    'Burgess' Cyclone parts

The "rule" that the diameter has to be 3 times the diameter of the pipe is also wrong. Barry

    'Burgess' Cyclone parts

From This thread the PhD paper quoted now having read through all the science says that the diameter of the cyclone is not relevant and their mathematical model used diameters from 4" to 36". So much for the Pentz teaching - it has to be 18". Barry

    'Burgess' Cyclone parts

Bob I went down both the Charwood and Axminster route to get the impellor - with Axminster technical department in the end they told me they would not supply. Charwood said they would have one with the next shipment but it never arrived and they did not call me back. You might be onto a lost...

    Dewalt DW615 newbie.

For the big router their is only one choice in my view - its the Triton W2000 router. A number of users on the BB use it. Ideal for a router table but a little heavy for hand use with loads of grunt. The seller must have had over 50 for sale and was selling 3 or 4 a night. I would look to...

    Dewalt DW615 newbie.

Sigibbons A number of us bought the DW615 from Ebay a year ago. Love the router. Most of us paid about £40+VAT +14.99 carriage. Some got them for as low as £35 and some paid as much as £50+ + after somebody posted the link on the BB. As it is light it's the best hand held router I own. Good luck...

    Cyclone design software, Barry

Ivan I think the 2" exist is too small and if I re built it I would use a 3" outlet and make the cone 3D not 1.64D. My test is a little unfair as I take the collection bucket from the big cyclone and use that as the test dust(about 30 liters). The big one picks up chucks of wood and a number of...

    Cyclone design software, Barry

Ivan I used a 2000W Morphy Richards - who knows what it produces. With my other non BP cyclone I also tested with a 600W and a Dyson which produced bad results. The transissoins from round pipe to rectangular in the inlet are similar in both the Flower pot and the baby cyclone, They are both...

    Cyclone design software, Barry

Ivan none of BP's cyclones either the large or the small use ti 1D3D model - he uses the 1D1.64D ie a diameter of 18" gives a cone length 52.52". The 1D2D model discussed in the PhD requires the least airflow and appears at first glance to be the least efficient but the test material was fly...
