Nothing Fancy - New Clamp Rack

Lee I started off by fixing the clamps as you did at a fixed point in the workshop but in the end I decided to make them mobile as I always ended up with the wrong clamp in the wrong place. It might be that I am getting older?? Barry

    Bessey K-Body v Bessey Uniklamp ?

I did not consider the UniKlamp - I has fixated on the K clamp having seen all the comments on their price - got a show special and left clutching my heavy expensive purchase. Barry

    Bessey K-Body v Bessey Uniklamp ?

If muscle is required the K body is your clamp. If loads of points need to be clamped the cheapies are great as you can own loads of them. I have found that I have one K body to about 6 cheap clamps. I resisted spending the money but in a weak moment I bought two K100 clamps and I was...

    impact drivers

I bought the Dewalt Impact driver without the battery from Ebay for £55 + carriage. One of my best purchases. Would not go back to using a drill as a driver and the small foot print helps in those confined spaces. The first 100 screw job convinced me of the justification even as a DIYer. Barry

Can anyone confirm my T-track dimensions are standard?

Neil my Incra mitre guage is 3/4" (19mm) by 3/8" (9.5mm) and it fits the brimarc track. All the Trend fittings are metric. I had to change the bolts in the feather boards to fit my US track. Hope this helps Barry

    Another dust extractor question

You can use spiral tube(metal) from CCL or you can use waste pipe but it is not standard diameter for most of the blastgates etc. Waste pipe is 110mm or 160mm where as the standard is 100mm or 150mm. I used waste pipe and modified the diameter at the blasgates like this Barry

    Another dust extractor question

1 HP works fine with chips but I would not expect to get the flow rate for fine MDF dust with the dust bucket added. I did loads of tests over a year ago starting with 1HP going to 3HP motor. With the smaller motors its better not to have the dust bucket with fine dust but great with chips. Barry
