Yes Andrew is correct. PHP and perl (cgi) are run on the server and don't have to be installed on the viewers computer. PHP and Perl generate the page into normal html when you access the file so as far as your computer is concerned it's just viewing another plain html file.

I have not heard of this before but I think Dave and Noely have cracked it. If you sign in each time you come to the board your cookie had most likely expired while you were writing the post.

Right for some reason I couldn't download the script I mentioned. Instead I've enabled the email feature on the forum. SO now all email addresses are hidden. When you click on the email button you get sent to a form where you can contact the member by email via the forum. This should cut down...

Yes this is true.. Okay I have found a script for the forum that should stop spammers getting your email address. It's a new script so there may be some bugs in it. I'll let you know once I've installed it and would appreciate it if you could let me know by PM or email...

Mike I coudn't tell you as I don't know. One thing this free forum software lacks is a mod log.

It was there when I posted the message last night - honestly :shock: I deliberately made sure I made a shadow post so I wouldn't upset anyone. One of the mods must have removed it, I can only apologize and see if I can get it back up.
