Lap Desk...(Warning LOOONNGG and lots of pics!)

 you knew what I meant [-X - It's been a long day :| Saying that the 'crosscut' blade that came with my old Delta mitresaw was questionable, I think my 24 tooth rip blade produced a better crosscut :-k

Lap Desk...(Warning LOOONNGG and lots of pics!)

Tom, a zero clearance fence will give you a much better cut but I would replace the blade with a cross cut one. Homewood threw in a free Freud fine crosscut blade (90 odd teeth) when I bought my saw. It leaves a silky smooth cut :D

The best clamps...price to practicality ratio

I have the ones from screwfix (same as the ones from Axminster) as well & they are very good value for money. If you don't want to spend a fortune on clamps, what ever you do DON'T try a bessey K body, I made that mistake and now no other clamp will do #-o I NEED more, MORE 8-[

Alf, you'd better not look at my tool rack photos as you may upset yourself   In my defence I did have an old record spokeshave and after a bit of work performed beautifully but when I unpacked it from the move, it had broken in two :|

    Workshop Layout

Yes I realised that and it's a good idea. I have to admit I never thought of making a new base for it, mainly as the hoover fitted there perfectly plus the metal base took 'beeeep' ages to put together I didn't want to take it down [-( :P You'd be surprised how quickly it's filled up :-s On...

    Workshop Layout

Hi Stewart, You could draw a scaled drawing on a program like CorelDraw or Sketchup of your workshop and machines and plan it that way but I think the best method is just going to the workshop and trying different layouts until you're happy. The key is don't bolt anything down. You might not...
