:-$ Don't mention snakes to me. If you do a search on the forum you'll find one nearly landed on my head and in the place where ever woodworker should feel safe - his workshop :? Charley who still opens boxes and cupboards from a distance with a large pole :P [-o<

    What a great day...

I think so :) safe fun of course - I will read, understand and follow the instructions that came with the saw and I will also remember to wear these 'tap, tap' safety glasses... Sorry I don't know what happened there, Maybe I've been talking to Philly too much? Alf, quick pass me the LN catalogue...

    What a great day...

This morning a lorry pulled up in the driveway, "ah that'll be my overhead guard and saw blade I ordered from Axminster TWO days ago  ".... "no? :( " :? :o  :) :D \:D/ :tool: It's my new lump of cast iron, which I wasn't expecting until tomorrow :D After setting...

    Competition

Sorry, sorry, have spent most of today with my head inside a mower, up a ladder in darkness and for tonight only the workshop has guests... Full post to explain later.... I'm going now to do my judging. As the owner of UKW I can't be tempted with bribes but I'll leave my paypal address in case...

    Planer/Thicknesser Dilemma

Yes I'm afraid so Neil. It'll take even longer when my new TS arrives as I'll have to wheel it around the 52" rip rails :D Was hoping to get the extractor plumbed in soon but it's been put down the list thanks to the electrics

Should it squeal when I cut it?

    Welcome to UKW Dickymint :D

    Planer/Thicknesser Dilemma

That's not bad :D It takes me 4 seconds to walk from the jointer to the thicknesser and another 20 seconds to move the extractor

    Planer/Thicknesser Dilemma

Welcome to UKW :D I have the Jet 60a jointer and the APTC CT330 thicknesser and highly recommend them both. Although don't mention blades to me as I had problems with the supplied blades on both machines ](*,)

    It never rains.....

Thanks :) I think I was really lucky judging by what the spark did to the screwdriver 8-[ The socket and light in the pit are now disconnected but I'll think I'll send someone else down the pit first  So if it turns out that the pit hasn't got any damp proofing (wouldn't surprise me)...

    Table saws... Scheppach or Record?

Please mind your language there John  I happen to have the GW mag where Andy reviewed the Xcalibur 12in saw on my desk. The sliding carriage can handle crosscuts up to 2560mm wide (left to right) and 1000mm depth (front to back) and takes up a lot of room. Think I would even struggle in...

    It never rains.....

Do you ever have a job that appears to be nice and easy but once you start it creates 10 more? Some of you may remember me saying that the electrics in the workshop are a joke. No CU, just a SWA coming in from the office on a very long and quite dodgy radial circuit. Luckily we've got a...

    Table saws... Scheppach or Record?

Welcome to UKW James :D I can't really help as I've never seen the record but I know the TS2500 is a great saw. It's not really the fence, it's the blade. You still need to get a square edge first so to do it on the table saw you would remove the fence and use a jig that runs in the mitre...

    Now where did I....

lol Alf   I'm slightly worried though  I'm not sure anyone could reply to that
