Starter Coil for 220v 1ph motor

Hi Old.bodger from another O.B Do I read you correct, you say: You need motor start / run capacitors: START CAP'..1x 160 / 200uf (sometimes expressed as mfd) 220/ 275 volts RUN CAP' 1x 15uf rated at 440volts. Why do I need different voltages I.E. (Start) 220+V & (Run) 440v.

Starter Coil for 220v 1ph motor

Thank you both for your inputs and I now know I should be looking for a capacitor not coil and I further know what size I should be looking for and further that the capacitor is not polarised albeit dangerous at high retained voltage. I will do an Amazon and ebay search and otherwise for...

Starter Coil for 220v 1ph motor

Hi My 1ph two coil motor is just humming at me at start up. Semi rigid ducting

I used 4" (100mm) rigid brown plastic sewer piping, left overs from other work, for most of my extraction runs. I use small amounts of 4" & 3" plastic spiral flexible for awkward bends.

Thank Sandyn I never thought about laptop power supply. I am a hoarder and I just 'dug out' my 15++yr old P106 Toshiba laptop. Power supply is 240v to 15 v with 5a. This may be a little small but it is only gathering dust at present. I'll give it a try. Thanks again, Regards, Richard.

    Dominion Super Elliot Woodworker 'Servicing'

Hi, I need to check the 4 rollers on a Dominion Super Elliot Woodworker sliding carriage. Can each roller be removed sideways without taking the sliding carriage of its base. Developing a reducing square for dust extract.

Looks like a household gutter down pipe hopper head, not exact but if needed (probably not needed) the much cheaper and readily availble hopper head could be readily adapted.

Advice needed : repair walking cane

I repaired my dad's walking stick when it came to me by using a simple chrome tube that held both parts strongly together. I needed to very slightly reduce the wood diameter to fit into the tube. Araldite and thin strong pins were used holding everything in place. Make it strong make it usable...

    Any toolboard recommendations please?

I agree I call it a shadow board..Lay it out flat & fit tools in the best location so that you can reach everything when its hung on the wall and draw around each tool with a good marker pen. Use thin strong almost headless nails to hang the tools, this allows easy off and easy replacing when...
