Tony, Do you mean that instead of getting your web site finished you spent the past few weeks making that. I'm glad you did. Excellant. Andy

Cordless Circular saw *updated* SIP perhaps?

Am I being unrealistic in trying to find a cheap (very) cordless saw that I can carry to timber supplier to cut up ply to fit in my car. I'm not too worried whether it's jig or circular. Am I likely to find something for less then £50 and if so wil it be man enough to cut an 8x4 sheet of 12mm...

    Fecn's Tiny Workshop Tour

Fecn, thanks for sharing you've squeezed a lot into that space and it sure looks cozy. For some reason the timber frame over low brick wall design is one that I've had in my mind for some while - not sure why though. Andy

Art Deco - good or bad?

The chair in Wizer's post is very pleasing to my eye. The bent metal stuff is not. Andy

    Road Pricing

Steve, I can see that I am in danger of getting out of my depth here and am beginning to regret raising my head. I think what I am trying to say is that there are other countries that do not have an alternative to state education and their academic standards do not seem to suffer as a result...

My father know concedes that his grandchildren cause far more wear and tear on him and his furniture than I was ever allowed to get away with. Andy

    Road Pricing

Barry, I can see linking the congestion problem with the failure of our education system is pushing the debate in a different direction. My question as to whether private education (on such a scale) is unique to the UK is however, I think, quite valid. After all if we did not have any (or...

Interesting pieces of furniture - 1

Well to me it kinda looks a bit plain. No doubt that there is some skill involved and I do not also doubt that the lines and design are "classic". Personally I would like to have seen some contrasting timbers used and perhaps some more radical changes in the drawer sizes and positions. I...

    Road Pricing

Since when is owning a car a good given right? The idea that it is the less well off who will suffer is also the reason given for not increasing taxes on air travel. Could it be argued that this idea of everyone, no matter what their financial standing, has the right to everything that the...

Rob, Your numbering system is far more elegant than the scribbled diagram on the back of each drawer that I used in similar circumstances. Andy

    Road Pricing

Listen, if everyone else would use public transport it would be far easier for ME to drive my car to work :!:  Andy ps we don't actually have public transport anymore, do we? - isn't it all run by private companies who, by the very nature, have to make a profit?

    i'm giving up metric

How come so many of you lot got educated in the 60s and actually learnt something. According to my father the 60s is where it all went wrong, spelling, hand writing etc did not matter so long as the ideas and content were good. I'm glad we don't buy petrol by the gallon anymore, can you...
