    Invasive Plant (garden)

if your plant has growing tips fill a jam jar with the weedkiller and stuff as much of the growing tips in the liquid as possible, cover the top as best as possible to stop rain water diluting it. This works well for bindweed.

    ladder feet for soft ground?

I have 100m of 2m high conifer hedge and although I have a long reach angled pruner I find by far the best way is a scaffold board between two step ladders. Better still see if you can pick a pair of these builders trestles. http://www.hirestation.co.uk/tool-hire/ ... rds/DTA03/ cheers Andy

    Tomatoes...

If your sideshoots are still small (2-3 inches) you can try potting them. If you get a warm dry autumn you may well get toms through to December. Caveat - works well with cherry toms, may be harder with the larger variety but there is always green tomato chutney. I'll show you ours in September...

Removing limescale on stainless steel tap outlet

+1 for vinegar. Use the clear stuff it is usually stronger. For taps I soak a piece of kitchen towel and leave overnight then brush off with an old tooth brush. I also descale the kettle with vinegar. Just chuck it in neat and boil once or twice. Roger have you thought about a water softener...

    A song about woodwork

I've just begun to digitise some of my LPs after 20 years of being in the cupboard. First one to be MP3ed was Brothers in Arms - Ah the memories. I can still play perfect air guitar to tunes I've not heard for 20 years. Doing the live album, Alchemy, as I speak. Nice to see MK doing something...

Euro 2012 - Fantasy Football League

Thanks to a Spanish clean sheet and a brace from Torres picked up my first real points of the competition last night. Just need Carroll to get a hat trick tonight and I'll be right up there. What's with the transfer system? I've 3 transfers pending that I cannot now change even though the...

    Picnic Table

Andy, difficult to be precise on cost as I bought enough wood for the table and a garden gate. Best guess about 300 euros or 240 gbp. cheers Andy

    Picnic Table

Just finished a picnic table with design ideas (the curved ends) borrowed from Creampuff's excellent table from last year. Not sure I have the radius on the seat boards correct though. The top is 87" x 33" and should easily seat 10 or 12 Seats folded up to keep bird poo and water off Made...
