Yep, spotted the Windoze only format so used this instead. Having now saved a video in MJPEG it looks identical to the original. Andy

I wonder if the Qataris will build air conditioned stadia as the I believe the temperatures in July will be about 40 degrees C !! Andy

    Mac iMovie to motion jpeg

Roger, over on the Apple discussions forums I've been advised to give this a go to convert the .mov file to MJPEG http://www.videoformatguide.com/mjpeg-v ... ormat.html I'm still a bit confused by your assertion that MJPEG is just a series of still images, a bit like old fashioon film then...

    Mac iMovie to motion jpeg

Roger, I beg tio differ. Here is the Photo Frame in question http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dpf-performance/dpf-d830l Quite clearly states that it can play video - see under Features > video playback and sound. Or is this just very clever marketing speak Andy

    Mac iMovie to motion jpeg

Roger, you're confused, me too! The spec of the Sony Photo Frame states :- "Compatible image file formats.... Video: MotionJPEG Maximum resolution: 726 dots × 576 dots Audio compression format: Linear PCM, μ-law, IMA-ADPCM" I assumed that Motion Jpeg would abbreviate to MJPEG. I've posted in...

    Mac iMovie to motion jpeg

answering m own post here - sorry. It appears that H.264 is a codec and is more compressed (ie smaller file size) that MJPEG. I'm a wee bit amazed, maybe operator error, that I do not seem to be able export/share/save a file in iDVD nor iMovie in MJPEG format. There appear to be lots of...

    Mac iMovie to motion jpeg

Roger, I've got it into iDVD but there does not seem to be any method of confirming the format nor sharing nor exporting it and specifying a different format. If I understand this correctly .mov file could well be in Motion JPEG format otherwise know as a codec - am I correct. How can I...

    Mac iMovie to motion jpeg

Roger, I'm using iMovie 09. A Ctrl click on the project does not list s "Show Package Contents" nor a "Media" folder. and there is no option to change the format when first creating a new project. The Share > Export drop down there is no Compress movie for:” to “Expert settings”. Click Share...

    Mac iMovie to motion jpeg

Anyone familiar with iMovie? I'd like to record a short video using the built in iSight webcam and save it, or convert it, to motion jpeg format which can then be viewed on a Sony digital photo frame. We've made the movie but I can't seem to find out how to convert it to motion jpeg (the only...

    Apple : I've finally succumbed...

Well done Mark, you wont regret it. Only non Apple s/w I have is Office for Mac as I always ran in to niggly problems with the open source office type clones when moving docs or spreadsheets from Mac to PC. Andy

    very quite axial fan, 240v

Roger, This picture was taken after the stove had been alight for about two hours. The vent on the right chucks out hot air from the chimney breast . a metal flue takes the smoke up and out. 37 degree C, is taken just in front of the plate cloe to the ceiling, 20 degrees is the temperature at...

    external shutters, re build

Lawrence, thanks for confirming that. The problem, in my opinion, is that eventually water gets behind all of the skin forming wood stain (lassures), varnishes, paints etc and that rot then ensues undetected under the finish. Reapplication also requires that the old finish be rubbed down, with...

    external shutters, re build

Loz I have seen this product before and it appears to be similar to Xylophene which both appear to be treatments for insect and bugs and do not appear to contain water repellants as found in Cuprinol and Blackfriars. I stand to be corrected on this though so let me know if I have got this...

    external shutters, re build

John, here's a pic of one that I have not repaired yet They are not generally "locked" just held with a catch on the inside. As John pointed out the windows open inwards. The shutters also sit inside the wall so it is not possible to lift them off when they are closed. Andy

Nah, I prefer the Zs :D Thanks for the info. Next time perhaps it will be chestnut. Funny innit, braced and ledge door I have no problems with just did not make the association with shutters Cheers Andy

    external shutters, re build

Jeff, 100mm certainly not standard in the sheds. I looked at châtaignier but the price was more than double sapin du nord and I figured that if they last another 18 years it would be fine. Mine are also only 20mm thick and again the standard around here appears to be 27mm which would have...

    Winter tyres/chains/studs/stay-at-home

Roger, stock up the larder and the drinks cupboard and stay at home. My FIL users snow tyres here for his annual sojourn to the mountains and undoubtedly they are excellent. In the UK though I reckon if you go out the roads will either be blocked as mentioned already or some muppet will lose...

    external shutters, re build

Kirk, I like those shutters, a lot. They look very heavy and thick and the construction method is probably beyond my capabilities but a nice design. Olly, I should think a chamfer/bevel would help and I will do so although water will always run down the groves between the boards. Cheers Andy
