Oak top in WC... part 2 - next problem

A definate dilemma mate but for me personally, every time I sat on the loo I would see that joint and wish I had spent the couple of hours doing it the way I would like it to have been, rather than make a joint it and have it done in 10 mins. I guess what I'm saying is, in a few weeks time...

    Fitting wooden worktops

Jake - sounds like you know what you are on about, unfortunately a little too confusing for me. Therefore does a platic/composite sink with plastic waste pipes and copper hot and cold water supply pipes, will this set up need to be earthed/bonded???

Oak top in WC... part 2 - next problem

Lee - If you are competent at plumbing and happy to drain the system that woyuld be the way to go from an aesthetics view, of course I'm sure you know that. The only problem is, if you have to remove for maintenance in the future then you will have to drain again or damage the piece to get it...

    big thanks to dodge

Well done you, if the world was fullof woodworkers what a safe and friendly place it would be. That London plane looks great. I work in London but have never seen any being taken down. I'll keep my eye open though, it looks fab.

    Fitting wooden worktops

I'm going to give fitting our new wooden kitchen worktops a go. After getting a quote of £500 to fit three counter tops I figured I will try it myself, after all I'm a woodworker. The counter tops are 40mm thick which square edges, I understand the right angle (The 3 tops will form a U shape...

Mark, thanks for posting the pics of your BG's I have made some up, in a very similar vein to your own. The only difference bing I have a little strip of wood to make the handle rather than a hole. I figured this would prevent the gate going al the way through as I too have left the back open to...

Thanks for the sketch Sam, I spent the day making 8 blast gates. I just wonderd, how did you rig up your drsign to prevent he baffle coming all the way out when you pull it open to allow the air through. My blast gates are 155mm x 155mm and the baffles are 235mm long, leaving approx 75mm...

    Another dust/chip collection query

Evening all, Having installed most of my 110mm soil pipe ducting I have come to the point of making the connections to the DC (2HP Aximinster) I will be using a 200litre drum as a two stage collector for the chips rather than have the chips go through the impellor. I was going to use 100mm...

    Dust collection, 2 queries

I tried the solutions suggested by you chaps earlier, works a treat, I cut a 1/2" section, lenghtways out of a 3" offcuts of the 110mm pipe on the bandsaw, then used the pipe solvent cement and clamped in a couple of 4" hose clips. Cutting out a 1/2" section then squeezing back together gave...

Record TSPP250 keeps blowing fuse, now blade wont turn. HELP

I think he means you will have to close the door as the safety relay switch may not let the motor operate with the door open?? Is the blade sticking on the guard or is debris preventing the blade from turning which may be causing an overload then tripping the fuse. Have you tried asnother plug...
