It is interesting to read how some favour the old Stanley/Record irons over the more modern alloy steels, nothing wrong with that, although I have been surprised at negativity (by some) towards what I can only assume is an advancement in steel technology. Just an observation. :) David

Thanks for the kind words Mike, much appreciated. Possibly not ideal to have the hanging loops. However spaces dictates and this was the version which best suited my needs and available space. Not too much of an issue however as the loops tend to hang open after a plane has been removed...

I am not concerned as to the thickness of the blades relative to honing, more regards the quality and resiliance of the steels.
