    Bankers

You don't need 1500 a month. Just 1500 in a saving acount that can be deposited on the first of the month and transferred back out on the second. Andrew

    Backgrounds??

Could you make the picture a component and select the 'Always face camera' opetion? That way the picture will always be visible. Might not be quite what you want but it would be a start. Andrew

    Bankers

First I've heard of it and I have a FirstDirect account. But it occurs to me. What would be to stop me setting up a standing order to pay 1500 pounds a month into my FD account from, say a Nationwide account, and then setting up a 1500 pounds a month standing order to transfer it back. That's...

Postal buying of tools within E.U>

It won't apply - because it doesn't need to. We can order anything we like from any EU country and we pay the VAT in the country of origin. (setting aside VAT registered business users discussed elsewhere). There is no other duty to pay on tools from within the EU although as many have found out...

    That Armoire

Dave, Looks good. Which rendering engine are you using? Or is that native SU5 output. Andrew

    carcass construction

I built something similar using 19mm maple veneered MDF and used biscuits. But this was assembled in the room in which it was being installed with the expectation that they would not be removed. Each carcase was 1m wide, 600mm deep and as high as I could make it based on the diagonal across the...

Finish for Front door / garage doors

The front door is in a porch so it is protected to some extent. Garage doors obviously are not. Both face North-West. When I said mahogany I was referring to the colour of the stain - not the timber. i.e. I have looked at the Sadolin/Siikens samples and what they call mahogany seems to be...

Finish for Front door / garage doors

What would the people on this forum recommend as a finish for a new front door and matching garage doors. Not sure at this stage if it is going to be hardwood or softwood (would that make a difference?) and because these are my doors I am not adverse to giving it a once over with oil every...

Wooden USB keychain (looking for suppliers)

Depends on how many you are looking for. The 'mini drive' towards the bottom of this page might be a good starting point if you wanted a reasonable quantity. Andrew

SU: Follow me around small radii

I am trying to draw a simple cabinet door that has a bevel on its face and a small curve at each corner. I have drawn the basic door, used push-pull to get some thickness, and thicker at the centre. Then created a bevel to follow-me around the edge... Without the radiused corner it all works...

Where to get 12" polishing wheels?

What's the advantage of using a larger mop at a slower speed compared with a smaller mop (which is easier to source) at the standard speed of the machine? Andrew

    SU: Stretching

Yaay, Bingo. just what I was after. Thanks again for your help. Isn't Sketchup amazing. It can do almost anything you want. Just have to know how. Andrew

    SU: Stretching

Thanks Dave, but in this particular case I think the answer is no. The rod was created using follow-me with a circle along a path. So when I try to select just part of it to stretch from that point it selects the whole lot. Andrew

    SU: Stretching

I have a component that is basically a piece of bent rod. A long piece of steel bent at each end. What I want to do now is stretch this for use in different situations. Stretching just the long section of rod, not scaling the whole component. Is this possible in SketchUp? I'll post some pictures...

    protecting your camera

I'll admit that I don't know what the weather is like in Eastern Canada but unless you want to do something really extreme like whitewater rafting I can't see the D70s being affected by weather conditions. I have one, and used to have an F801s (N8008 for North American readers) which I took...

    Genuine conversation

True, and if they get hold of my bank details they can pay money in. They can't get it out though. Don't know about anyone else on this forum but I wouldn't be adverse to a stranger paying some money into my bank account. Am I missing something? Andrew
