    Jim, I don't know who you spoke to off ebay, but I bought a motor from this chap for the pillar drill I rebuilt, very pleased with it. It is a 1HP motor so might be a bit big for your machine, but worth a look.

    US Style 110v Power Plugs

    Err with your track record I would say NO. At some point you are bound to plug your 110 v saw into 240 v mains, it might survive but it would be a real shame if you wrote the motor off.

    A good weekend

    That is never a problem, he loves using the dust extractor, there is a long clear hose that goes up to the soil pipe in the roof space, seeing the shavings going up holds his attention nicely. 8) :D

    Iona is a Samoyed, she will be six this year, here she is not long after we got her. She has grown but still loves to met people, she love it when we had the bashes, all of the guys were her friends. :D
