I may of told this story before but I think it well rate with the MK1 version of Dicks. As a teenager I worked in a small builders yard, making fence panels. My build bench was at the back of the shed where the table saw and planer lived. The planer had a 2hp single phase motor that in the cold...

My dust extraction plans - please comment

While the size of the filters on the Axminster machine are smaller than Bill recommends, it does have 'automatic filter cleaning for consistent performance', which should help to overcome the smaller size. All of the filters will need cleaning in time, having bigger filters makes the effects of...

my DX5000 dust extraction system (with revised section)

Rob, I made some wooden gates, then bought a 'bargain' kit of dust collection bits, plastic blast gates included. I have used a couple and find the problem with them is dust collecting in the blind corners, this stops the gate sliding completely shut. Its a slow process so I didn't notice until...

    A forum all about shaving?

Some why does it have to be removed? I have had a beard, like Pete since I was 21. Used to be quite long, was asked if I was growing it to join ZZ Top a couple of times and a small girl while holding her grands hand asked if I was Father Christmas. 8) The LOML and all of the kids have never...

    Air filters

The problem I see with that type of fan, if not used with a cyclone to dump the dust, is damage to it as 'stuff' tries to go through it. :x It is quite surprising what I retrieve from the dustbin under my cyclone, particularly if the grandchildren have helped to clear up. :D 8)
