    Planer-Thicknesser machine

In theory you can hot glue a board to another larger board, with wedges underneath if it's really out of whack, and do one side on thicknesser and then do the other side after, with edges done on table saw. I read about it all the time, but don't know anyone who does it, as it would really only...

    GENERAL OPINION OF bOSCH TOOLS

Green = DIY part timer - cheap and cheerful (I have circular saw and drill/driver and they are fine after 10 years however well below the quality i would want to have now and they are not used) Blue = ok, however usually something better for same price Dishwasherf/fridges etc, they have 3...

    Festool ebq 1010

Heh, I was kind of joking about the slippery slope... next up will be a festool jigsaw i think.

    Festool ebq 1010

Got one cheap off the bay. Clearly had heavy site use. Depth stop and micro adjuster rusted solid. Some wd40, brass brush, metal guard, rust restore, protec wax and a complete strip down later I have a new favorite router. The soft take off, low noise and depth adjustment are completely...

    Which Router?

I also like the 625. From my Trend T4, DW625, Makita RT0700CX3, B&Q branded, and my built in router table router, the 625 is the best for big jobs and the makita best for small jobs. I also got a Festool 1010 off ebay which I have not tried yet - slope is very slippery indeed!

    Dust extraction - some questions

I use a http://www.makitauk.com/product/dust-ma ... acuum.html Makita vacuum which has dust bag and filter cylinder. I then connect this to a "drop box" no cyclone, just goes through a large metal bin I got from Axi (which they don't seem to do any more), and that goes out to the cheaper 2.5"...

Bench saws Axi 200 or Scheppach 2010

I have the ts55 which is excellent. However doing parallel ripping and right angles and repeat cuts are all more fiddly. Cutting boards to length then requires a mitre saw... so I use the two for very different tasks. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Advice on small shop vac please ?

If you rarely work indoors (you said "very rare"), and you want to dust manage wheeled machines when you do, then you have a conflict between what you are willing to spend and what you are trying to do. effective bandsaw / tablesaw / planer extraction will be £300 and up IMHO. If you want...

Bench saws Axi 200 or Scheppach 2010

I have the TS2010 and it is a china made machine. It's ok for hobby stuff, but the extremely awkward setup and fettling + ali top have made me slowly grow to loathe it, and I would go for an Axi in that price range. Having said that, it has provided me 5 years of service and perhaps all low...

    Sanding on lathe

I suppose it depends on the paper. If they wood particles are not going in the air, where are they going? On to the paper, however perhaps they slide off easily. Also paper would disintegrate, however quality sandpaper is made from other materials so could be fine. Just try it and see ;-)

Advice on small shop vac please ?

That link requires me to sign in, and when I search from homepage i don't see a model 431... Those I can see look cheap and cheerful, so if they fall over after a short while you won't have lost much.

    Extraction for lathe.

Yup, ignore them. If you have a strong vac in the right place and can get close to workpiece them perhaps you can get some, however probably not worth the bother.

Using lots of oil. getting oil on your product before you're ready for finish. Faffing? Clogging of paper. Longevity of paper.

Advice on small shop vac please ?

I am not sure about not needing dust extraction outside, it tends to hang around in the air a lot, and you are breathing it in at source. You have two types other than chip collectors. Vacuums http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ho ... -extractor These connect to larger tools, usually have...

    Xcalibur sliding table dimensions?

Naturally we will need pics ;-) Did you have to adjust to get slots aligned? And was it easy? Was your table adjustment using included fixings? Or did you have to mod the TS somehow? On my current saw I tend to use the short mitre for small pieces and the table for longer, or for panels, so...

    Forstner bit recommendations

I used the really cheap axi set and found they all needed sharpening before use. They were the brass coloured set.
