powerful and european style router ...

The original poster seems to have disappeared... in case you're still there, I live just North of you, you're welcome to come and try out my collection of routers, including a round one mounted in a table, which came with the table. Cheap, average quality, ideal for hobby use.

    WIP Roubo: Finishing

I already posted on the leg assemblies, and boy are those things sturdy. It's actually a struggle to lift them onto the bench. I turned my front slab bottom up, and then had the task of getting the back slab carried from garage and into place. I have not moved it since my Bro-in-law helped me...

    WIP Roubo: Finishing

For the end cap, I created the dovetail on the bandsaw and refined by hand. Getting the mortise and tenon right took quite a bit of finessing, and working on the end grain to get a flat end / shoulder line on the top was a real chore. (I'm not the best at the hand tool side) However I then...

    WIP Roubo: Finishing

I missed quite a few steps, some of these may be of interest, there's certainly been a lot of effort over the last few weeks. I don't think I will build anything quite as big again. The sheer hassle of moving these large glued up boards, or leg assemblies. It's quite tricky to find a balance...

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

I also have film on my office windows, works well - lots of different grades / reflectiveness etc, and you can replace it / darken it etc if you get it wrong, better than replacing glass. I missed a few pages, but regarding cabling, all my electricians, and the telecoms guys had a reel of metal...

    Painting Concrete

My paint has turned out fine, however of course you can see the underlying seams and structure through the paint. You'd need to render to avoid that. It's certainly not glossy, it's just the same as interior walls, just I got some paint that had primer built in, plus silicon for some structure...

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

definitely put a sink in, one day... if you wash your hands, throw the water out, if you're washing something nasty, pour into container with funnel and take up the house. the convenience is worth it. In my old shed, I threw out so many brushes, brayer rollers and other things, never watered...

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

When I laid all my flooring, be it T&G OSB in attic, or laminate in main house, I drew a chalk line and next to one wall. I then double checked with string the first few rows until it was solid enough to just go for it.

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

I thought I linked to that ;-) (The diagram) The point being that you devise the tool with the long arm being AC and the short arm being OB where of course OB == OA == OC, hence easy to make!

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

If I recall correctly Steve calls it a square of Thales. The theorem goes that if you join any point on a circle circumference to the ends of its diameter drawn in any direction you get a right angle. Therefore I believe the moving middle leg of Steve's stick meets both ends of the larger...

    Workshop Air Cleaners

the smaller jet if hung from ceiling would seem to be fairly out of the way? I have the larger jet one, and it is totally different to a domestic air purifier.

    Xcalibur/Harvey set up

However they now don't come badged as Xcalibur. There is no badging at all. Looking for the product number, these seem to originate in China as "Harvey"

    Xcalibur/Harvey set up

Is there anything specifically you'd like to know? Apart from the usual setup fiddling, the saw in use is a real pleasure. I got some Axcaliber contract saw blades (Rip, general purpose and fine laminate cutting), however they turned out to be very poor compared to the blade that came with the...

"""""HEAD TO HEAD MITRE GAUGE REVIEW"""""

To answer an earlier suggestion I can confirm that the xcalibur had a standard slot and its smallest footprint is 24" wide including motor housing and 32" deep. Add increments of about 10" per wing. Solid kit but not super cheap. Same as delta though I think so surprised you can't pare that...
