    That was my point Nick the whole thing, i.e.the chuck holding the chisel, wobbled so when it was lined up and pulled down it could easily go a mill. of the cutting line, the hold downs were in my opinion awful and very fiddly, perhaps I'm overly fussy. :) Dom

    Hi Matt, had one of those, it was adequate is the best I can say the various locks and chuck could have been more rigid but if you are only using it for heavy work e.g. gates etc it's fine. Dom

    As Tony said. I believe Titebond sell a hide glue and if you do overtighten and get slippage they do a dark glue which can help to hide sins . Dom

    Tim, when you find the unit you want ask what you will get for the price. Is water included, are rates included, electricity or gas. Are you responsible for insurance, ask them if you have to provide extinguishers if not ask them to tell you what type( it will affect any claims that may be made...

    As George said it's a bit hit and miss, but my experience is that the boards are usually a lighter colour than the wood when finished. Ply is available but MDF is far more common and works as well. Don't forget to buy edging strip unless you are edging in real wood. Silverman in Coventry will be...
