Tools Poll Forum - Cast Your Vote

I am in the same boat, I didn't vote because I haven't used any of them, but if I was given free one of them I know which one I would pick  Maybe, the Poll question needs rewording. Personally I think that people should cast a vote on the Router they own and they are happy with it...

    Toggle clamps

Thanks Asleitch & Alf :D I am going to compare the prices now. But since I want to get a vice from axminster, if the prices are similar I'll get them along. Unless someone says the Trend clamps are far better quality!

Are you voting a particular model because you have used it and think it's the best or because it's the one you'd like to have??

At the risk of looking stupid, I'll ask: Where on the Wealden site do you see the toggle clamps?

Gidon - Thanks, the inside is exactly 5x3.5 metres. I am still working on setting all the powertools up as efficiently as possible. I am very confortable working in it since I made the workbench. Asleitch - Yes it's amazing how beer can have such a motivating power! Alf - Thank you, I am...

    Toggle clamps

Hi all, can anyone comment on the quality difference between the Axminster toggle clamp (http://www.axminster.co.uk/default.asp?sub=130) and the Trend (http://www.trendmachinery.co.uk/clampsystems/)?

    Using ear defenders

Well I couldn't agree more Desmoengine, what ever the power tool, you will have the dust vaccum going too. This is too much noise for my young (cough) office worker ears. With my latest acquisition, the Trend AIRACE (dust mask) I look like Dark Vader's father. I have this big mask in front of my...

Looking for someone to review project 3D plans

Sketchup is a very good, easy to use 3D software. I would say it is really architect oriented but does work very well for sketching furniture. Also I really like the sketch feel it gives, there is even a way to extend the line to make it really look like a concept drawing. Have a look at...

Looking for someone to review project 3D plans

Thanks for all your inputs, it helps a lot. Yes Noely, I would love to see pictures of what you are talking about, it's hard to picture it :) By enlarging the base will I not risk weakening the cross posts? I mean the longer the horizontal post will be the more they will be subject to...

    Using ear defenders

Looking at the GBWoodshop, I noticed Dave isn't using any ear defenders operating all his power tools. I was wondering if most of you are doing the same. personally I use them all the time.

Hummm, this is not a great solution indeed. It looks like this could cost me a lot in proper casters :!: :?: :?

Looking for someone to review project 3D plans

AP, well spotted. In fact I have them in but they don't show on the stills. Signal you should be able to see them in the 3D file. Thanks guys, I can see you are on the ball :D Can you give me suggestions for the casters. I was looking at prices and they are very expensive to get 2 fixed ones...

Looking for someone to review project 3D plans

The top will be 30mm thick, made from a long plank of pine I saved from a very large machinery container. That's why you see 2 pieces on the top part, I'll joint them with biscuits. The posts are all made of 38mmx75mm timber. I am hoping this should cope easily with the load. Am I wrong?

Looking for someone to review project 3D plans

Ok I have made some stills of the project. You can see them here: http://homepage.eircom.net/~cycworkshop/temp.htm If anyone is interested to get these plans or to review them I can send the file by Personal Message. I have drawn all the components as they would be assembled, to the exact size...
