    The best finishing sander

Ike, I agree with Noel, if you have an ROS sander already, don't you get a good finishing with it?? I certainly do with mine.

    The best finishing sander

Neil, I remember reading the review of the ROS in GWW and the metabo and Festool are very close but the Festool was claimed a little better. Especially the dust extraction was definitely superior on the Festool. Ike, I believe the Metabo is far better value for money but I strongly think the...

    Buying a bench...

Building yours is by far the most inexpensive solution. A great benefit is to have it match your size which helps greatly on the back (bet you didn't think about that  ). I built mine without hardwood and for the cost it's so far doing a great job. It's really sturdy too. I would...

    Don't buy cheap bisuit jointer

I too have the Performance biscuit jointer. I do find the fence locking is very poor but apart from that it's working fine. I remember reading in the GWW magazine this Performance jointer had one of the best scores!! I'd love to try the Freud to see the difference for myself!

    Festool ETS 150/3 EQ-Plus

Alf, yes the price is high, but consider this: It's got a 3 year warranty and it is in my eyes the best performer on the market. I feel it's worth saving a little longer for it. I have started saving for my next Festool, this could take a while  Chris, I plan to use some 220 for really...

    Festool ETS 150/3 EQ-Plus

Hi all, Here is a review of the tool I very recently acquired. Now allow me to admit it is the first orbital sander I have used, so I guess I haven't got grounds to compare, thus I will only state what I think of the features: - The power cord. Having it detachable from the tool is genius...

Couple of new projects in the gallery

Tony I agree with you, I wouldn't expect to see dovetail joints for this project, however I was wondering if you did dadoes for the end of the partitions. Good job, it really looks good :D

I have the airace and think it's very good, but it does get a little in the way of my ear defenders. I have large 3M ones. Wearing the mask, the defenders and glasses It can get sore after a while!

    Elektra Beckum PKF 255 V8

Does anyone have links or documents on how to fine tune the PKF 255? The manuals are good for assembling the tablesaw but now that I am well used to it, I want to really fine tune it and this is not well explained in the manuals. If someone knows of some good resources please let me know...

    Best Bench Drill?

I got one from SIP. It's big enough for the price. I got it for €150 which would be about £100. So far I am relatively happy with it, but haven't used it a lot yet.

Converting industrial building to woodworking workshop

Okay the ceiling is covered so I'll give my idea for the window wall :D You could build a sliding wall (which has windows in it). You make a partition wall out of 2x4, include your window openings and have this partition on a rail. You can slide it open when you need to move large peices in...
