How to remove snapped bronze screws ??? (in a hole)

I'm guessing you really want to keep the boards in place as I expect they are precisley scribed to fit the deck shape? Are the teak planks glued down as well as fixed with the bronze screws? If they arent fixed with adhesive, then why not just remove all the plugs, unscrew any screws that will...

    Diabolical Service

Since my previous post I went online and did some research. The firm we did screen-prinitng work for (C H) went into administration 18 months ago after their main national client went pear shaped. Since rebranded as J T, so evidently not the same firm. Any way, I hope you can get it fixed soon.

    Flattening an oak table top

I recently refurbed an ikea table top which was made from some sort of weird nightmare chinese oak lanimated in 2 inch strips. It was very wild, raising grain, reversed grain etc. And it wasnt flat either. I realised why the manufacturer sanded these tops, initial hand planing was a disapoitment...

Why use farrow and ball paint

I have a few tins of f & B eggshell oil but once they are used up I wont get no more. It is very fiddly to use, needs cutting with turpentine otherwise its too clumpy and stiff. It starts to dry very fast which means it doesnt work out nicely and easily, even with a decent quality brush (I used...

    Dirty Britain

The other side of the coin so to speak, is the bizarre rules surrounding the recycling industry. I recently was informed, in no uncertain terms I would NOT be allowed to take any timber WHATSOEVER out of the skpis at the local HWRC. I had found several 12 foot lenghts of very top quallity...

    First attempt at electrolysis.....impressive results

There are a few likely problems that I encountered 1/ connected wrong way? The item being cleaned should be connected to the (-) wire, the anode which attracts the waste is connected to the (+) wire 2/ Poor connection? Use a file or wire wool to make a nice clean area of metal to get a good...

    Dirty Britain

I've seen heaps of old tires dumped in lay bys and remote lanes around here, also seen 3 piece suites, old toilets, several burned out vehicles dropped off in farmers fields. Being a sparsely populated rural area I guess its harder to be caught out The most bizarre has to be those "wishing...

    Horrific storm damage pictures

I live fairly close to BB, the wind here has been powerful, although less so now than 5 hours ago when I first saw and heard it. (I slept sound although the wife informs me our power went off around 2 am but was quickly restored, well done edf =D>) I have never before seen clouds of leaves...

Have you had any storm damages to your property at all?

I've had a preliminary look, the pictures make it look worse than it is. Fence is 6 foot high. A small tree and the firewood store have prevented it from blowing totally away. With luck it will just need 3 new posts and a few new rails (one is completely broken), the feather edge is largely...

Have you had any storm damages to your property at all?

I hope everyone is ok Woke this morning to find a large section of fence flapping about, the posts (4x4) look to have snapped clean through. Incredibly we still have electric power here (mid suffolk) although it fades in and out a little sometimes. Usually the power goes off at the drop of a...

Michaelangelo schmangelo, why on earth is that overrated old darling always qouted high on the cognosceinti top 10 lists as the epitome of culture?? Its the same old chestnut, the dogmatic assumption that european culture (art, theatre, opera, whatever) is a simply marvellous pheomenon and is...
