    Sad or what?

Here we are Gill, I'm veneering maple side panels for my bookcase number 3 (birds eye maple) Today I'll groove the legs the exact dimensions on the veneered panels, so they slot in snuggly. And maybe I'll then smooth the legs with my 4.5 and not forgetting the occasional swish with the new...

    Sad or what?

15$! They're only 7 quid from Axminster: http://www.axminster.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=19859&sfile=1&jump=0 - postage will be cheaper too! Anyway what would collectors be doing with such a thing!

    Sad or what?

Got mine from Axminster and a real Halls one too. (I was hiding the label due to the hot flushing cheek syndrome) Works a treat as the great bearded one suggested!

    Sad or what?

Guess who's been watching David Charlesworth DVDs   So even less space in the tool cabinet now.

    Making your own veneer?

I cut veneer to 3 or 4 mm, then plane it back to 2mm. I veneer both sides with this thickness to stop any cupping. Most machine cut veneer i buy here is 0.5mm or less

The Woodworker - Competition results Advanced

What can I say I'm overwhelmed, I never thought for a moment I'd win  Please let the sponsors of the competition know I'd be happy to pay the extra postage since I'm a Brit abroad. Alf your right, another tool cabinet needs to be built. I'm hatching a plan to fully rat it, and have...

    Clamp rack

Nice one but watch out, I have a wall mounted rack and have just made it wider as it became too small, as we all know the number of clamps you need to finish a project is always n-4, where n is the :norm: Norm factor (or in English the number of clamps the project requires)

    Bench, maybe?

I have 19mm Ulmia Dogs, and as Neil and I have been swapping PMs on this I rang them. They now have discontinued the 19mm ones and only do the 30mm ones, pity I was thinking of ordering two more Sorry for the mis-information.

    Bench, maybe?

I was just going to post to ask about if you were doing without dogs. It's a bit late but Ulmia the German maker make round dogs with sprung ball bearings that protrude every 120 deg in 2 rings. These get over the problem of round dogs sticking at the weather gets damper. (Mine do this) they...

    Japanning

I inherited some bedrocks with about 1% japanning left, so the ethics did not matter for me. I put on the japanning in thin layers I warmed it and painted it on by hand so it would stay smooth, 4 layers was fine. I built a small electrolysis bath to fully strip the old rust away...
