TOOLSTATION just opened near me, I'm impressed!

Another variant of Screwfix, I find both good. One thing that I do go to Toolstation for specifically though are their Torx headed screws as they're no dearer than a typical pozi head there.

Two face veneered ply - from where?

I'm after some two faced veneered ply for the backs of some projects I'm doing. Thickness in the region of 3-6mm would be acceptable. I'm really struggling to find two faces though! Does anyone have any place they would recommend? Chances are I'll have to pay shipping which isn't ideal, but...

Pros and Cons of a Table Saw based Router Table?

So no sooner is the end of getting my workshop starting to get in sight, I'm starting to think about what I could improve in it. One of the candidates is my router table setup. I currently have a self-built "Norm style" mobile router table, but I've also got a Startrite 175 in the workshop...

    Turning a large rod

I'd use a skew for that once I'd roughed it to just above thickness with a fingernail spindle gouge probably.

IT geeks.. recommend any data recovery software?

It depends how it has failed. Does it get recognised in the BIOS on the machine?

A couple of advice questions really.

A vote here for the veritas mk2 honing guide. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but will see you right for any long rectangular blade. If you can score a flat piece of marble from somewhere (worktop offcut or mantelpiece) then with some bits of sandpaper you have all you'll ever need...

Opinions: T-track inserts or DIY t-slots for router table?

I like making jigs and mixing mechanics with woodwork, I can't deny it. The nicest t track I've found is the dovetail one from Otoro. Fine tools sells it online.

    ROS for finishing

Sanding after planing? I'm confused unless you're just scuffing the surface for a finish. Please can you elaborate on your planing.

Easy/Quick Double Driveway Gate Design Required

Evening all, On the list for this summer is replacing all the fencing and gates at the property I have bought as they are all neglected and thoroughly rotten. I've just made a start on the fencing, however in the high winds today my driveway gate has well and truly given up the ghost - some...

    Painting mdf

Yes, but that lone won't give you a mirror finish on MDF. If you want a high gloss finish like a commercial kitchen then there is a lot of effort to achieve with MDF. Somewhere on here there's a great thread on it.

    Anyone any good at maths?

But it's not a measurement to the join of the A-D piece, it's the two edges of the top horizontal piece? Which means it is correct? @The Bear I've realised why Mike and I don't agree on C-F - he has excluded the thickness of the top and bottom horizontals (i.e. internal height is 1150-18-18)...

    Anyone any good at maths?

Why the lack of love for 196 and 178? If that is the short and long edge of the top horizontal piece then that is correct.
