    Easiest rust removal ever?

Deox-c is all you need :)

    Internet in shed

If you want wireless, you want a wireless access point :). Or if you have a spare router you could set that up as ab AP, but that's a bit more involved.

    Thicknesser

Very deliberate title here, thicknesser not P/T. The good news is that I'm frequently getting my hands on offcuts of PAR hardwood timber, which is fantastic. The downside is that it's nearly always 1" thick, and that's too damn thick for most of the stuff I want to do. Given that I'm starting...

What did you do in your workshop today ?

As requested sir! http://imgur.com/a/6Fdv2 First couple show the jig, including one of the 0.5mm aluminium spacers. Third picture is just to highlight the chamfer I put on the bottom to avoid dust stopping pieces from being flush to the fence, and the final bit is a piece of black walnut...

    Routers cutter for aluminium

Have a look at some of the homebrew CNC sites like OpenBuilds, lots of info on there about cutting ali :)

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Will get pics up when it's done :). I've nicked the best bits of design I could find on the net and bodged it all together in the way that only an amateur can do :D :D :D

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Built a fence for my router table as the existing one wasn't versatile enough for my liking. Need a few M6 coach bolts and a couple more slots routing and it'll be sorted. Nice high (15cm) fence, independently adjustable in and outfeed fences (offset), and both fences also adjust laterally to...

    First Fix Nailers

No, I mean the first fixing for jigs etc in the workshop when assembling.

    First Fix Nailers

Being the woodworking/technology hybrid nerd that I am, I've been watching a fair few videos lately to get some ideas on various projects and improve my techniques etc. One thing that struck me is that almost universally, our friends across the pond reach for nailguns for their first fix with...

    Garage Electric Help

Seems logical, and I'm dredging my memory for the regs anyways. I'm confused by your description of the FCU though. What you should have is the supply coming to the IN terminals, so in your diagram the switch would then connect to the IN terminals. the totality of the garage (i.e. socket and...

Newbie shed made out of pallets

Your second post puts things in a very different light to the first. It would be worth detailing all your plans from start to finish on here so the best possible advice can be offered. Plenty of people on here have built their own workshops from scratch so there's no shortage of knowledge, it's...

That's my recollection of the regs too Woody.

Why is it usually the outfeed router fence that adjusts?

It's a real nuisance to get my old Trend table set up as it's a fixed fence with a little section that can be pushed outwards on the outfeed. I've therefore got to independently offset the fence to get the amount of cut I want when jointing, and then get the outfeed support exactly lined up. I...

Why is it usually the outfeed router fence that adjusts?

Most of the router fences that I see have an adjustable outfeed, which confuses me as I would have thought that having an adjustable infeed is of more use - as soon as you increase the cut, you're keeping the outfeed perfectly aligned. I know the Festool one does this, but why do most other...

Bit of actual woodwork - "floating" desk

Gorgeous. Is the top a single piece? How have you mounted it to the walls?

Dodgy email from myself (sort of).

Probably harmless marketing but difficult to be certain. Did she click anything on the page the link took her to, install anything, or provide any details? Those are the warning signs really.

    Weird thing on my computer

It would be incredibly unlikely that a PC can't read an unfinalised MS disc to be honest.

    Weird thing on my computer

I suspect Wuffles is bang on the money there, and would second the suggestion of VLC. Windows doesn't include the necessary software to be able to play DVD's "natively" due to licensing restrictions.

    Lidl parkside table saw

Not the right tool for the job at all I'm afraid. I'd suggest a sawhorse, face guard, kevlar apron or trousers, and kevlar gloves. Alternatively if it's a small volume, just use a sawhorse and bowsaw :)
