    Rebuild or Replace Dewalt RAS

Set up is as good as it can be, I need to price up the activity to replace the bearings/alignment slots to remove the slop currently in it. I'm not yet clear how expensive or involved that will be, so assessing my options.

    Rebuild or Replace Dewalt RAS

I have a dual saw setup in my workshop, an EB PK200 table saw, and a Dewalt 1251 RAS. The RAS is well worn, and even with full adjustment and fettling, there is a level of slop in the alignment once tightened up. I feel like I have two options - one is to refurb the RAS, but I have no idea if...

    Floor Problem

I might be misunderstanding your post, but you seem to be trying a physical impossibility? You've got an uneven surface, which you don't want to reduce in level because you don't want to reshape concrete, and you don't want to raise in level. You've got to do one of them to achieve levelling...

    Query about electricians work

Halo, I know how you feel. The only people I get in are plumbers and it's taken me years to fine one I rate. For sparky stuff I tend to do it myself, leave everything exposed, then get the sparky to do final fix and certify. Saves a load of labour cost and I know it's been done halfway decent.

Norm style router table build and insert choice

So my TWX7 RT001 arrived today. Having assembled it, my impressions are: - nice phenolic coated MDF surface, seems spot on - fence is a good solid extrusion, very pleased with the build of it - features wise the adjustable fences are also phenolic coated MDF and seem sturdy - two spacers are...

    Query about electricians work

Get him back. From an installation perspective those terminals should be in a knockout box with a blanking plate for that approach, and as for the wiring schematic, well, it's clearly wrong isn't it! Personally i would withhold payment until he makes good what he has done, and get someone else...

    Sometimes you just get lucky..

Having wanted to scream after missing chrispy's oak clear out, I was on the hunt today for some 18mm Birch ply for a router table. Eventually found some 10minutes from me that had been lurking for years without being sold. 2 sheets of 5ft by 5ft.21mm.cut to size for my car. 50quid the lot. Bb...

Norm style router table build and insert choice

Thanks for the responses. Having read up some more, rather than machining my own plate and finding HPL or similar for the top, I've got the TWX7RT001 coming, which I'll then build a norm style cabinet for it to sit on. Seems to strike a balance between functionality, cost and time.

Norm style router table build and insert choice

Thanks. When I start looking at the prices of some branded metal plates being over 100, I wonder if I should just get the rta300...

Norm style router table build and insert choice

I'm not yet sold on building my own table rather than buying, but I'll explore my options. Router will be a Tra001 so there's a fair bit of weight to it. Whilst there are plenty of threads on here on tables I haven't found many specifically on inserts. Any recommendations on my options or indeed...

    Triton MOF001 Router

I often buy from Amazon simply because f I have an issue I just send the unit back and get a new one. I've not done it beyond 12 months so I don't know what their limit is, but their help is great.

    Routing suggestions

Not quite. I assume the diagram is top down. Therefore the cutter will be rotating counter clockwise as you look at your diagram. If you are cutting at the 12oclock side of the cutter you should be moving the workpiece left to right on your diagram. If cutting on the 6oclock side, moving right...

    Cannot Remove Stains

What gun is it inlet for? If it's a common model you might find replacement beech stocks are peanuts, most enthusiasts tend to replace them.

    Routing suggestions

I'd sing the virtues of a router table and advise you to get one purely because of useful they are. If for some reason you don't want to, then how about fixing a board to the router baseplate, and securing it upside down securely. For the area you're working on then that might work as a...

    Pendant light question

60w led will be blinding, I expect that is the equivalent rating. You want to find the true rating of the led bulb, which must be below 25w in your case. Unless this is the lamp to end all lamps it should be.

Table saw for salving wooden planks

What I'd probably do is... - Check for nails - Run them through a PT to true up a face and thickness as desired - Put each piece in a straight edge jig and run it through the table saw to give you a perfect edge. - Flip board over and repeat. You've got two parallel faces now. - Crosscut the...

Car Diagnostic scanners - anybody use them?

You can get an OBD2 scanner for under a tenner that will link up to your smartphone. I've used it on mine a couple of times with the same result as the offering in the garage.
