    Any electricians in the house?

The fused spur supplies an external PIR lamp and checking the fuse was the first thing I did. The previous owner was ex-military who got into home security in a big way. There are FIVE PIR lamps in total - one covering the front of the garage which I can sort of understand as they'd light up...

    Any electricians in the house?

Thanks for that. I'd wondered that, not through any real knowledge but by process of elimination however didn't know if it was possible. I was about to run that cable straight to the new socket but light was fading by that time so I'll try that in the morning and if it still doesn't work I'll...

    Any electricians in the house?

Anyone able to offer any advice please? I use my garage for a workshop and it had an electrical supply already installed when I moved in. The box marked 'M' in a red circle is the mains switch which runs back to a fuse box in my kitchen. There are three lines out of it, one powering the sockets...

Reluctant sale of the above. I bought it a little over a year ago, first time I tried it out the blade found a buried screw which took some chunks out of the blades. I got round to replacing these in summer and promptly took my finger tip off. I'm sure I'll regret selling it but at the moment...

    Scorched

My neighbour has cats and sometimes they like to have a nosy in the workshop. One popped its nose in the other day and after it went there was a bit of a stink so I wondered if it had left me an organic gift. Couldn't see anything but the smell was getting worse. Decided that was my cue for a...

    Trend Router lathe

I can't see it. The link takes me to a home page with a variety of forums and typing "Trend Router Lathe" doesn't find it either.

Turners retreat, Harworth any recomendations ?

It's not a gender issue, more a reflection of our dumbed-down society. Different area entirely but in my youth, a pilgrimage to Jessop's of Leicester (Hinckley Road branch) was always an incredible experience, it was like a cavern storing treasure's galore and staffed by knowledgeable people who...

Timber Yard - Headings Required - Please Help

Well volunteered that man. Re: Local tab, had a look in there, didn't see a great deal for Lincs in either East Midland or Yorkshire/Humberside; is it really as I feared and a barren area for wood?

The Hardwood Offcut Shop - Brentwood

Could do with something like that up here. I've just made a two hour plus round trip to a sawmill that claimed to have a variety of hardwoods in stock ready for collection yet I got there to be told they don't offer wood at all.
