    Saw Blades

I went with the Freud but curiously, their 216mm is larger than a Dewalt 216mm! It fits my chop saw okay but the teeth snag the riven knife on my table saw!

    Saw Blades

Is there a circular saw blade equivalent to Tuff Saws? If not, what are the preferred options currently? 216mm diameter, 30mm bore for both Mitre and Table saw.

That would be most useful, thanks. Could you manage 2 x 950mm lengths as a test? I shall be passing through Welbourne on Saturday, once very early morning and again later in the day. As I recall, your parents are practically last house in the village.

Thanks for that. Not been up that way for some time. I accosted a young plumber in a garage forecourt the other day - poor kid looked petrified. His tip though was to contact the plumbing faculty of the local college. He says they have the gear to do the threading and it sounds like they offer...

    MFT clamping options

I fitted some t-track to the side of mine and use the f-style clamps to secure upright pieces, albeit to the side face not the table top.

Power tool cases - what's it all about?

For years in my youth I worked in a camera shop, Whenever someone bought a new camera, my boss would insist on taking absolutely everything out of the box to show the customer precisely what they were getting for the money. Which was all well and good, except he could NEVER get everything to fit...

MAKITA CXT DRILL SET 10.8V DRILL AND IMPACT DRIVER - SOLD.

Maybe just me but I've never found a case or packaging particularly conducive to the performance of the equipment, quite the opposite in fact. My previous set came with a lovely case and they looked so neat and pristine in there that I never took them out to actually be used for the purpose they...

    Precise and Imprecise Tools?

Flip side to the old adage about a bad worker blaming his tools; a skilled worker can achieve good results with even the most basic tools. Not that I'm a skilled worker.

    Any Old Iron

I spend far too much time watching youtube videos with some envy over the kit available to woodworkers on the far side of the Atlantic. Not just the big machinery, even some of the small accessories. As an example, I saw a tool cabinet build featuring Rockler tandem hinges which looked an...

    Any Old Iron

Yes, I understood what Just4Fun was saying. It wouldn't be the first time I've taken a saw to cut down timber to a suitable length and the possibility of doing the same with the pipe had crossed my mind. However, not only does the local BSS lack a recognisable car park, with pipe threaded one...
