Lorries with a hexagon logo livery

First time in a long time I was on M1 the other day, up around Sheffield. I'm no boy racer and my car no hot hatch but, even so, I was maintaining a steady 70mph and still being overtaken by lorries. Not sure it's speed that is limited.

Edited - Which track saw (rather than which circular saw)?

MacAllister are a budget brand touted by B&Q, part of the same group of companies to which Screwfix also belong. Okay, I've been spoilt a bit now by better brands but I did have one of their jigsaws - an emergency purchase for cutting laminate flooring - and it really wasn't up to much. At the...

Edited - Which track saw (rather than which circular saw)?

When I was at your stage a few years back I bought a Festool TS55 and was blown away by. I used it mostly for breaking down sheets of plywood at the start of a project. I found I might not then use it again for months on end so earlier this year I sold it. Of course, regretted it almost...

Incra Mitre Gauge or Sliding Carriage for Table Saw?

I have an Incra V120 and I love it. I added an Incra telescopic fence and flip stop to it which took it's total cost way beyond £129. I also have a dual function sled; put it in one way and it gives me zero clearence cuts at 90 degrees, rotate it 180 degrees and it allows 45 degree cuts. Incra...

    Axminster-TS-200-2

Wow, that's on £12 more than a second hand one with best part of a week of bidding still to go is commanding. The replacement appears to be the AC216TS at £499. There's what looks like an identical model from Draper at £420 which appears to also have been discontinued soon after the model it...

As these are now discontinued can any owners remember how much they paid for theirs?

Anyone familiar with this tablesaw who can comment on its performance, quality, reliability, value etc?

    Nuts!

Dimensions about right too. When I searched t-nuts it came up with the spiked things

    Nuts!

Yes, those are identical to the oes supplied with Incra gear and Imperial, 6mm bolts a lot easier to come by round here.

    Nuts!

Anyone recognise these nuts? I've been looking for something similar for ages now and fond these in an odds'n'sods box so no idea how I came by them originally. They fit t-track perfectly, are metric, 6mm therefore I doubt they're Incra so does anyone know where I might find more nuts like these?

    Cricket World Cup

For someone with a surfeit of tools you seem short of some truly square.

    Cricket World Cup

Was a total farce. For years there has been talk of corruption within football and it seems it's found its way into cricket, guessing TV money a common factor. Level after 50 0vers, level after a superover trophy should have been shared are a win awarded by wickets not boundaries. Never, ever...

    Planer Accident

In a similar vein, I'd like to see an end to cheap cameras being sold to non-professional photographers so I wouldn't have my livelihood continually threatened by hobbyists and their smartphones, tablets or beginner's outfits. The same beginner's outfits that got me started as a hobbyist and...

    Planer Accident

I used to work in the print industry and with a number of guys who'd lost digits to printing presses. They're fitted with guards which need to be removed during plate changes, maintenance etc, when the machine is generally idle anyway. However it is sometimes necessary to do some plate cleaning...

After market miter gauge for DeWalt DW745 table saw

Not sure there's such a thing as "standard" when it comes to mitre slots! I have a Dewalt and I bought an Incra V120. The mitre bar on the V120 does fit into the Dewalt mitre slot and it has a detachable tab that fits into the wider part to stop it lifting out during the cut. The mitre bar has...

    Drilling and Tapping Up

You made it a lot more interesting than my old metalwork teacher. Mr Shillito was his name and even he didn't sound all that interested in the subject. Still, I suppose years and years of teaching hundreds upon hundreds of snotty nosed, useless kids like me would have that affect, He also had...
