    I would use a ¼" spindle gouge, carefully, to rough it down. Otherwise the same as phil.p said.

    Wickes 10" bandsaw

    Thanks chaps, One of our members was going to donate one of theses machines to our Men's Shed as he said it was no longer suitable for his use as the top blade guide was twisted ? I suggested we had a look before he bought a replacement. I haven't seen the machine so I don't know what it is like...

    Thanks for those details, I will have a look later. The only problem I see at the moment is the tension lever. It is the same as any other lever I have met BUT it will only work in one position. As this lever sits in a slot in the casing it only works when the lever runs parallel with the arm...
