    getting wood

Chaps at our local RECYCLING yard won't let you near the skips. They say it is Council rules that determine " what comes in, stays in ". While at the dentist yesterday I popped along to a local charity shop and the had a nice wooden table with a broken leg they were going to dump. I have no room...

    Everything's coming up roses

How thick is the wood ? Could you mount it in an A4 frame with a red backer for the flower and a green backer for the rest ? The craft shops have a good selection of heavy paper/card. take care Don W

Advice on first purchase spend split

Hi DexterX, I can recommend taking a trip to Perthshire Woodcrafters or Taywood Woodturning Club to get a feel for the lathes and tools that you may need. Both clubs meet on the first Saturday of the month (Saturday 4th March) and I would recommend your first visit should be to Monifieth for the...

    Update on my website

Just had a look and was quite impressed by the display. I use Linux as my OS and everything appears ticketyboo. I am not too keen on the strike through pricing. I would delete the strike through and say 'Now Reduced' or just 'Reduced'. Just me of course but I leave it to you. take care Don W

    ...........

    Standing or sitting

I prefer to sit. I have a bar stool type seat that raises and lowers and I find I do that a few times in a session. The saw is raised 2" higher at the back and sits on a Workmate. I try to take a break every 1/2 hour but certainly need a break every hour. Hope this helps, its just the way I...

+1 for what Phill has just said. It is an expert piece of work but sadly let down by the design. (if you know what I mean). I have never braved the shed this year so far but have some interesting things in mind. Looking forward to the Hares take care Don W
