    Scroll saw

I have had one of these saws for a couple of years now and am quite happy with it. I use pinless blades almost exclusively and had a bit of trouble threading the blade through from underneath "at the beginning", I am now used to it and am quite content with working that way. With the help of Big...

Thanks for that. My preference was for gluing together the front and back pieces. Sanding the backs then gluing together. Finish coat of varnish/sanding sealer after checking joins/fit.. Sanding the base and applying a piece of felt.

I have only used a washer made from the shiny paper backing from the sheet of white sticky labels. After I have used the sticky labels I keep the sheet handy in the shed. It is a simple matter cutting out a 3/4" bore hole to fit over the nose, the outside diameter can be what you want but I use...

    first 3d name cut

I think I should have cut out the letters and left the rest of the wood, like a reverse of what I did do

    first 3d name cut

Hi All, I have just produced this cut of my name. There are quite a few mistakes but I should improve with practice :D I made this during a break I took while cutting the 3 wise men project. Don W

    3 Wise Men

Hi All, I have been busy lately on this Kathy Wise pattern for a friend. I have the fronts cut, shaped and sanded ready to be stained. Next step is cutting the backs in the same manner and creating a 3d sculpture type set of standing figures. Don W

    .........

Thanks Brian, I know I am going to like this project. Thanks for the explanation/WIP. Did you consider waterslide decal paper for the lettering. I did a pen with a waterslide decal and you could feel the decal sitting on the wood. I gave it 2 coats of Melamine Lacquer, dipping it in a tube then...
