    Thanks As they are stainless ferrules you can’t punch them with a centre punch (can for brass as softer - copper will be fine as fairly soft also) so I turn them so the ferrules have to be hammered on tight I won’t be sharpening them, I enjoy making the handles and cleaning the tangs and...

    Thanks for the reply’s it’s not the socket will hopefully have a closer look at it shortly hopefully it might be the bushes as didn’t smell burnt out, it came to me second hand and as noted I’ve worked hard for the last couple of years will keep you updated
