I use BLO on a nice figured piece of wood such as Olive, but only one coat then leave it a few days (or even longer) to fully dry .. It really does help bring out the grain ... :) Here are a set of pens using the above method ...

A wipe down should be sufficient Nic, i have had the same in the past when using Cocobolo and Bocote on a segmented pen, but i have never had this issue since wiping it with the meths ... Here is the said pen ...

It all seems a bit much really as the most of the dust is actually taken away using the normal extractor, thou i guess if you have time on your hands then this is fine ...

I have bought a few tools from B&Q including a table saw, mitre saw, planner, i don't have any of them anymore, not that they were not up to it as they did do the job, but i find them as starting tools only to upgrade if they serve me well.

I am hoping to buy myself a Nobex Champion mitre saw, with the Japanese blade. After i sell a few items from my shed.

Some nice looking pens indeed, but the funny shaped ones don't do it for me.

I have seen quite a few made from Olive wood ... Or was it a chopping board i saw. :---)

Definitely remove the Pith, it will certainly split with this on ...
