    Mortices and Morticer question

Hi All, I have a project I am about to start which involves me needing to make about 80 mortices approx 50mmx 50mm x 50mm in some treated softwood. I intend to use my "hobby" Axminster morticer which I am alway reluctant to use because it's always agro to use.The problem is one, it seems more...

    Laninated curved beams

Sorry didn't explain myself very well, you're right Steve that was what I was thinking. There is not much money in the job and certainly not enough to go buying a load more cramps.I do like the idea of doing it Chrispy's way but I think it will need to do it as the sandwich particularly as I will...

    Laninated curved beams

Thanks guys, originally I thinking I would laminate the beams the other way,in other words, across the beam, maybe three laminations about 15mm thick.Do you think this is not a good idea and would it not be as strong?

    Laninated curved beams

    Laninated curved beams

I need to produce a number of curved beams, not sure how to describe them but they will be about a 3m span with a rise to the top of the curve of about 600mm.How would you all suggest making them and what size section. They are to produce a curved roof to a number of aviaries for birds so will not...

Who is in and who is out?

I can't say I agree with further or increased benefits per say.In roughly the same area as the Head of Valley road is a proposal for the Circuit of Wales a privately funded project for a new state of the art Race circuit but it needs a Welsh Government guarantee to cover 70% of the funding which...

Who is in and who is out?

Wales has its own mini HS2 its called the Heads of the Valleys road.A road to a large extend funded by EU (our) money. It cuts through large section of countryside and will shorten journey times considerably. It passes through some of the highest Leave vote areas so clearly EU funding has not...

Who is in and who is out?

Once we have voted who does the counting to come up with the result?Being a complete cynic my concern is can they be "leant on" by Cameron and his cronies? I understand a number of Birthday honours have gone to Remain campaigners so for me this would just be a step further to suit his ends.

    Question Time

Sorry for me he just does it for effect, which I guess is ok but it's not for me.Looking as flowery as he did maybe he just went to the wrong studio and was supposed to be on Gardeners Question Time.

Who is in and who is out?

I think when it comes to the vote most will go with their gut feeling rather than any so called facts they are told by either side.It seems that every "fact"that is broadcast by which ever side is countered by an equally truthful sounding "fact" by the opposite side.I don't think any of us can...
