Hi All, Well I spoke with the local motor rewinding company and there have quoted £260 to rewind and refurb the motor.This seems expensive to me,what are the members thoughts and also what would the machine be worth in good working order? Thanks Matthew

Hi All, I have a Kity 637 Planner/Thicknesser but the motor has burnt out.So I want to consider replacing it,if it is worth doing and not to expensive.Bearing in mind I know nothing about motors,can anyone tell me how I go about finding a replacement and what info I would need from the motors...

Sundance have your tried Dickmans http://dickmans-timber.co.uk/ been there this morning he has huge selection of different timbers,all Air dried,no Kiln dried.

As phil.p says Wealden are good for quality and service but I really like the quality and selection from CMT as suggested by mseries

Thanks Woodmangler just checked them out and they are softwood people unfortunately .Clwydianrange I am often at Timberman but as you say there is not much of a selection so again that is a bit of a dead end but thanks for the thought.

Hi Woodmangler I am having the same problem.I have just found these people http://www.internationaltimber.com The only problem is that if like me you only fairly small quantities these people have a minimum order size of £500 but if you are looking for they will deliver. Woodmatt (Matthew)

Thanks for your quick replies guys. I have seen Wentwood Timbers web site and having now spoken with them, it seems Kiln dried is a bit of a problem for them as they will only kiln very large amounts at a time and I only need about four cube. Have any of you used Dickman Sawmills...
