    Hegner Quick Release Clamp

A friend here in the U.S. made something similar. He used a piece of round stock, bored a small hole for the blade to go in and then drilled a hole in from the side and threaded it. Then used a small bolt with a knob to screw in and clamp the blade in place. Because it was round stock, it sat in...

    Brand new hegner #2

I bought an older single speed Hegner and it had quite a bit of vibration too. It was mounted on the metal stand and what I found quite by accident was the order of tightening the 3 hold down bolts made a huge difference. When I tightened the two front bolts that are nearest the operator and...

    Guns,guns, and more Guns

Unless you live in either Chicago or New York City. The ghettos in those two cities are overrun with illegal gun ownership and the crazy fools love to kill each other. I'm a responsible gun owner and was at one time the California state pistol champion. I love my right to own a gun and will...

Anyone lifted a full size snooker table 1-1/2"

Here in the States, we have businesses that specialize in moving billiard/snooker tables. Nothing like that on your end? Are you just needing to lift it to maybe recarpet or something like that? Curious!

    "Excalibur" scroll saws

Here are a couple of pics of my first build of the dust system. I used a smaller container that I bought off of Amazon for this one. You can see how it all mounts and is plumbed up to the saw. The one pic that shows my home brew manifestation of a muffler is with the whole thing upside down. I...

    "Excalibur" scroll saws

Pete, I thought I read the specs on that and it appeared to be similar to mine. Mine fastens by 3 screws right under the top rather than at the bottom so most of it is down inside a 3lb coffee can. I fabbed a lid for the can to replace the plastic one and cut a hole in it and drilled 3 screw...

    "Excalibur" scroll saws

Hi Pete, sorry but it appears that they are sold out. I bought all of mine from Amazon and a friend found his on either Banggood.com or Alibaba.com but when I went to those sites, I could not find them. I will check Amazon and let you know if/when I find them again. They really work great and...

    "Excalibur" scroll saws

I will add a bit here. I have never purchased a "new" scroll saw. I've only shopped the used market and after buying and selling quite a few, I now have 2 Excalibur saws, 1 green Canadian built 21 inch, and 1 green Taiwan 16inch. Both have proven to be very good quality saws. I have added the...

    B& D Workmate upgrade top

Yes, mine is all stamped steel. Very strong and has stayed tight with much use over the years. I've thought about selling it but it is so handy to have at times, I think it will stay with me.

    Scroll saw speed control

I'm no expert by any means but I've been told it won't work. I always wondered why a sewing machine foot controller wouldn't work too but was told it won't.

    B& D Workmate upgrade top

I have one of the old original Workmates and mine is in great condition after all these years. The original top is 3/4" plywood but where the two jaws come together, it is doubled to be 1 1/2" thickness so I'd say that gluing up the two pieces of plywood will do just fine. Just extra weight.

    Joke thread

I found this wonderful British woodworking forum and started reading the joke thread. I have found many great jokes and cartoons here that I have copied and pasted to another woodworking forum in the U.S. Not meaning to steal anybodies thunder, just wanting to share the great British humor that...

I hoped this day would never come - loosing my workshop.

I hope that I'm not being overly simplistic but we here in the U.S. are experiencing the same greed. I am in a mobile home complex that has just changed hands and the rents are headed for the moon. My suggestion is this, if small industrial space is at such a premium, would it be feasible to...

Baby Wadkin Bursgreen in California: Advice on an AGS10

I know this doesn't have anything to do with your questions or your saw but I just thought I'd let you know that you have a "neighbor" down here in Southern California, Huntington Beach, to be exact. Nice to meet a fellow American here on the U.K. thread. I enjoy reading everything here...

Cleaning sealed ball bearings, questions about stuff.

Many years ago, I was enrolled in classes at General Motors Institute and the instructor told us to NEVER wash out a bearing with any type of solvent as once dried, grease will not adhere to the bearing balls or rollers. I did in fact have to try that just to satisfy my own curiosity and it is...

    Joke thread

I'm new here and I wanted to say a big thank you for putting me onto this group Tuba Skinny. I've been sitting here for an hour wading through all their videos on Youtube. Fantastic group.
